How high were your heels and did they hurt? How much did you pay for them (and was it worth it)?

having a hard time judging between beauty and comfort. No one ever really sees your shoes but I think I walk taller and stand straighter in higher heels... but I also can't dance as long..... hmmm.

what did you girls do? Any advice?

Re: How high were your heels and did they hurt?

I looked for shoes that were easy to walk in and comfortable. I had 'normal' heels of 1.5-2 inches (don't quite remember now).

I had my shoes on from 2:30pm to 2:30am, and I was not in pain at all. I was a dancing fool at my reception too!

I'm all for comfort.

Re: How high were your heels and did they hurt?

My heels were 2.5 inches, but someone suggested I wear them around the house with sweatsocks on to break them in, and it worked beautifuly. I wore them the whole day without a problem. I should also say, I do not normally wear heels, but I was comfy.

Re: How high were your heels and did they hurt?

My heels were about 2.5 inches. My shoes were very comfortable too. Pick a shoe that is comfortable but realize people will see them - when you are getting in/out of cars, the garter toss, etc.

Re: How high were your heels and did they hurt?

Dont believe that no one sees the shoes! My shoes were in a lot of photos and a few of my guests asked me about them so I assume they must have seen them.

I wore 2 inch heels and they didnt hurt at all b/c of the rush I was feeling all day. The next day my feet were killing me.

Re: How high were your heels and did they hurt?

Mine were at least 3 inches. I wore them from noon til 3am and I was fine all night. They didn't bother me at all...but I wear heels to work everyday and am comfortable in heels. I did have some small blisters on the ball of my feet the next day but to tell you the truth it didn't hurt at all that night! People do see your shoes..people even ask to see them and they are definitely in pictures - you don't realize - getting out of the limo and slightly lifting your dress - shoes your shoes - walking on stairs, garter removal, etc. I loved my shoes...I dyed them black after the wedding so I could wear them again.

Re: How high were your heels and did they hurt?

does anyone remember the name and/or designer of the shoe so I can search for the comfy ones and avoid the painful ones? For instance, every shoe I try on at RK KILLS my feet as I stand in them in the store! Can't imagine 12 hours in them. However, I found Versani to be very comfy but pricey - like $200 (um, wearing them once....). I will bite the bullet if I have to but would rather not.

anyone wanna post pics?

Re: How high were your heels and did they hurt?

Well, I needed to get a short heel so I wouldn't tower over my husband. I ended up going with a 1 3/4 kitten heel, I thought they were extremely comfortable and still sexy. I danced all night in them and didn't need to take them off.

They make so many beautiful short heeled shoes that you could go for comfort and still look fashionable.

Re: How high were your heels and did they hurt?

Mine are Fenaroli Collezione, they are two inches high and so far, while wearing them around the house they are very comfy. I got them from the Fenaroli showroom in the city.

Re: How high were your heels and did they hurt? How much did you pay for them (and was it worth it)?

do you ever just feel like no matter what you always like the MORE expensive things? I tried not to think about shoes at all and i just planned on grabbing a cheap pair wherever but I wear a size 10 and have a bunion on one foot. Soooo, none of the inexpensive shoes fit and they are all pretty painful. I find myself justifying $200 shoes that I will only wear once! Last month I lauhed at them and wouldnt even try them on. This month I love them.
Did anyone else spend that much on shoes? I hate to admit it but I do think they are more comfortable. The ones I really like are by Versani and I cannot find them on-line anywhere (that designer doesn't even have a website that I could find).

Anyone know of anywhere on-line I can get them?

Mine were 3 inches and were good until I was posing all day! I was dying in pain. I am glad I had a pair of ballerina slippers to change into no one saw them under my gown.

Re: How high were your heels and did they hurt? How much did you pay for them (and was it worth it)?

MIne were about 2.5 - 3 inches. They were fine until the end of the reception and then I took them off and stashed them under someone's chair. I think she was surprised when I came running over and was like Hi, Can I put these here for a minute...

I only paid about $35 for them on Bridesave.com--they were Dyeables and I actually at first bought them at Casa di Mario for double the price, but I returned them because I found them cheaper.

You might want to try professional ballroom shoes. You can find them in most dance wear stores (there are a couple of Capezio's in the city). They're very comfy because they're made for dancing.

Re: How high were your heels and did they hurt? How much did you pay for them (and was it worth it)?

I spent over $200 on mine, they were Stuart Weitzmans but they were so comfortable! I was like you at first thinking I would never spend so much but in the realm of weddings when you think about what you are spending is another 200 a big deal? Especially if it's a good shoe that you love? that was my thinking.

If you like the shoe get it.

Re: How high were your heels and did they hurt? How much did you pay for them (and was it worth it)?

My heels were around 2-2.5 inches and they were comfortable all day/night. They were simple silk satin pumps by Fenaroli. We did the garter toss so my shoes were definitely in view at that time. I was lucky and found my shoes at a clearance sale on www.myglassslipper.com for $25! Shoes with leather soles should be more comfortable as they will stretch rather than man-made materials that stay stiff.
