I knew I should have listened to you girls...

So some of you might remember on Friday that I got some bad news about FIL. MIL called me and told me. She asked me not to tell DH and to come over with him that night so the family could sit down and tell him. She wanted FIL to open a beer with his son and tell him the news. The plan was for MIL, SIL, and me to get our nails done, pick up dinner, have a nice dinner, and then tell DH.

WELL, I should have listened to you guys and told DH before we left the apartment to get there. DH dropped me off at the nail place where I met his sister and mother. Afterwards we went to pick up some pizza and while I was inside getting it with SIL, MIL called the house to tell them we were on our way back. SIL and I got back in the car and MIL says 'Bad news...Franky knows...' I was P*SSED! I told MIL earlier in the day (when I called her after talking to you girls) 'We're all going to be home when you tell Franky right? I don't want to go get my nails done and then I'm not there for him.' She assured me 'no, we'll be home. We'll do it after dinner.' Well that went out the window. DH apparently walked in the house and asked his dad how is test was, his dad just spilled the beans and then said 'but I'm not supposed to tell you about it until after dinner.'

Well needless to say, DH didn't get a chance for it to really soak it in and FIL did a terrible job explaining. Finally I got DH alone and he just cried in my arms for abuot 15-20 minutes. But that was about 4 hours after he was told!

LESSON OF THE WEEKEND: LISTEN TO LIW GIRLS AND SC*EW MIL!!!!!

that stinks that it was so badly planned ...

but don't blame yourself for this ... even if you had told your DH, he still would've been just as upset!

Thanks girls! Lesson learned! Part of me thinks MIL got me out of the house on purpose and that it was part of their plan. It just doesn't make sense what happened knowing his dad.

Now I know, next time I'm told 'don't tell Franky, we'll tell him' I'm telling him anyway.

And thank you for the well wishes girls! We'll know more after the MRI next Monday. It just pains me to see DH so upset and I feel completely helpless.
