Tonight had to be one of the most heart breaking nights in my entire life. On 12/31/2011 at 9:42 pm I gave birth to the most adorable baby girl ever... Aria Rose 7lbs 4oz 20 inches... She is literally the love of my life.

Tonight we were supposed to be discharged together. The doctors were in and out all day doing tests on her and when we asked if there was anything wrong they would tell us its all routine nothing is wrong and that she'll be ready for discharge at 8pm as planned. Fast forward to 755pm...I'm already discharged papers in hand we're just waiting for our little peanut to be discharged...The pediatrician comes into the room and says the baby wont be coming home with us tonight. Stating that earlier in the day they thought she looked a little yellow and did a billirubin test on her for jaundice stating that the baby's level was at a 7.9 which is high and then just about when we're ready to leave it hit 13.1 and they had to treat her with photo therapy asap. When I asked why they didnt mention this sooner if they knew earlier in the day there was a possibility she wouldn't be coming home the dr. replied well I dont know what the day crew does. What kind of answer is that? I'm so heartbroken I actually didnt want to go home tonight because all of her nursery is set up in the main area of our apartment and she should be here with us. They practically threw us out of the nursery before visiting hours were over and told us we werent even allowed to stay in the lobby. I'm a wreck tonight and DH is just as worse.

What i'm asking for tonight is prayers that my daughter will be released tomorrow as soon as possible and that she takes to the treatment. Please ladies i'm begging for help.

I am sending so many your way and for baby Aria!
My niece had jaundice when she was born and also needed photo therapy before she could leave but you would never know this today, she is as healthy as can be!

I know you want the baby to be with you but trust that the hospital will take very good care of your baby.

i had to be released before my first daughter and it was the hardest thing i ever went thru. I am so sorry and hope she gets to go home ASAP!!!!
