I paid 6K....
for my parking spot when we bought our condo (we live in a busy part of Chicago with little parking). Lately one of our a-hole neighbors has been letting his visitors park in it when they come visit him. So far we have been patient with him and just leaving him and his guests notes saying that we own the spot and not to park there. HE STILL LETS ALL THE PEOPLE PARK THERE!!!!Is it time to tow these people? The guy barely speaks english so when we approach him, he acts like he doesnt know what we're saying!
I know towing is a PIA for people...but c'mon!!!

if you pay that much for a spot, do it. i would be so annoyed, and i'd do it over and over til the guy gets the message. i'm sure he'd understand that.

If I paid 6k for a parking spot I would've had them towed the first time it happend! You're being nice- have them towed next time.

Thanks ladies!DH thinks I am being mean because our neighbors have 'been nice' to us. they barely talk to us!!!!!
I'm giving them 2 more hours and then I'm caling the towing company!
Whats even funnier is that the sign telling people they'll be towed for parking in our lot is literally right above my spot! BOOOO!

This happened to us in our last apartment --- we let it go until it got really annnnnnoying. And yeah, I called and I towed it and it never happened again. I felt mean too, but oh well I got over it reallll quick once I could park in the spot

I LOVE when people only speak English when it's convenient for themselves (no offense to anyone but this happens on the job all the time)!DEF have them towed! You gave them fair warning and you paid for that spot. It's time to take it to the next level.

I went out there after my 2 hour grace period (per my DH's request) and the car was gone. I know this guy is planning on having a party on Sunday....so if I am not parked back there, I will be watching my spot like a hawk with the towing company on speed dial!
Ahhh i hate that guy! Seriously, I have to take a picture of his back door. He collects all the gargbage other neighbors throw away (chairs, tables, paintings, potters...) and keeps it under his deck!!! Its soooo gross!!!!! Seriously, DH and I call him Sanford and Son. Then, he goes around the property planting tomatoes and thai chili peppers in our flower gardens, so we get all these mice and squirrels all over the place!!! I have been dealing with his crap for 6 years...now the parking thing just takes the cake for me!

Besides leaving notes on the care - have you approached him in person or called him? I would maybe even leave a letter under his door or something.

ITA..... I'd bet this guy will speak perfect English when his car does get towed (and he confronts you about it)....

why not go to home depot and get a cone just to put there as a deterrant. if they have the BALLZ to MOVE the cone and park then, then i would def have them towed!!!!

We have so many college kids in my neighborhood, I am sure the cone wouldn't last 2 days. They take everything that isn't nailed down.
I wish DH wasn't such a wuss when it comes to our neighbors! I wanted him to go over there and tell the guy off, but he thought I was over-reacting!

WHAT>???????????I don't get you Chicago people.. You are WAY too nice!!! lol (I know, because DH and his whole family is from Chicago). Every time we're in Chicago to visit.. There's always SOMETHING that makes me go '***.. DO SOMETHING'. His sister is forever yelling at DH for honking the horn and not letting people cut him lol I DONT GET IT!
If I were you.. I'd leave 1 note... and after that.. not only would I call the tow truck, but I'd call the cops, AND I'd knock on his door and threaten to smash the windows in the car.
