joint accounts and gifts

i was just thinking about this... how do you buy something for your DH for birthdays/holidays, etc. without him knowing if you have a joint account? We both keep track of the purchases and balance the checkbook. Just wanted to get some ideas!

Same! But I'm in control of joint acct so he probably wouldn't notice anyways.

same here. Our joint account is only for 'joint' stuff. We each maintain our own separate accounts.

Us too. This way DH can make his stupid man purchases and I don't have to get angry that he spent joint money on it. Also it means I can buy all the shoes I want and he can't yell at me for it

pay with cash!!!

and last year i didnt want any thing to come up on the cc bill so he would know where i shopped so i bought a visa gift card and bought it that way

we have 3 accounts, one personal each, one joint (well, 6 if you count savings lol).

but I would recommend paying with cash as girls have said

He has NO online access to our accounts. He doesn't care and I don't mind. When he buys for me he takes out cash, in small increments, so I never really see something big come out.

thanks girls. i would take out cash of the account but was just afraid he would notice and say something.. oh well i have until december so i still have time but i guess i'll figure it out!!

We put it on a credit card....so we don't see it come out of the joint account.
