Las Vegas

We are considering a Las vegas trip for our anniversary in Sept. I really don't want to spend a lot of money. We've been once before and stayed at the Luxor. I see good reviews about the Golden Nugget and it is inexpensive enough.

Any reviews on this hotel or Fremont Street in general?

Re: Las Vegas

travelzoo has a couple of good vegas deals right now ...

when i went, we stayed at the Excalibur which was fun ... only thing i didn't like is that it was pretty far South on the strip but we didn't really mind the walking.

Re: Las Vegas

I would call hotels and tell them it's a wedding anniversary get away and see if they have specials or anything to lower the price. DH does it all the time to get cheap rooms at places and it works like a charm.

ITA..fun to go to but I would not stay there. You will probably end up spending a lot of money just taking cab rides/buses to the strip.

Re: Las Vegas

If you dont want to stay on the strip my parents always stay at Sams Town- its off the strip but has free shuttles back and forth to the strip and Downtown. I have stayed there when I went with them- the rooms are nice they have a real cool light show at the inside park.

Me neither. It's way too far from all the action and everything down there is so old. I would stay at TI or the Flamingo. Those are our 2 favorite hotels to stay out when we're there. They're both nice (TI being nicer, younger crowd, more up to date) and are in great spots on the strip.

Re: Las Vegas

I've been to vegas a bunch bc my company has its annual sales meeting there every year. This year (coming up in June - ya, vegas in JUNE) is at Mandalay Bay. I've been to the Palms, Venetian, Hard Rock...I've never been off the strip....like to stay or go out. I would have to think that there are deals to be had in vegas considering the state of their economy. Good luck!
