What was your first job

Ive helped out in my family business since I was little. My dad owns a candle company & we manufacture & distribute candles & other products. It was always so much fun to work there & I still do-although its not as much play as it use to be when I was little.

My first job outside of the family business I was a color assistant for Cactus in Dix Hills. I worked there for a week.

MY first job was when I was 8/9 babysitting for the neighbors 3 month old daugter and four year old son! I baby sat for them ar least 4 times a week until i was 18!! Evenyually they stopped listening to me cuz i ws like thier big sister!! I also worked at a day camp over the summer as acouselor when I was 14 and then when I was 16 I worked at the YMCA at gym/swim for 2-4 year olds!!

I worked for Delia's....not in a store...in the call center.

I got TONS of free clothes.

Eta: prior to that, I interned for a local punk label downtown...I didn't get paid though...but that also had some cool perks.

When? Was it downtown or when they were in LIC? I worked at the LIC office, 1999.

Besides babysitting (does that count?), my first unpaid job was actually working as a candy striper at North Shore Hospital in Manhasset where I worked mainly in the maternity ward.

I can't believe that now, 15 years later, I'm gonna be one of those patients!

My first paying job... I think I temped the first summer I was eligible to work, mostly as a secretary in offices around LI.

First real job besides babysitting and tutoring would be cashier at Pioneer Super Market. It was actually kinda fun because we ate SO much off the shelves and I worked with my bff at the time.

ETA: Plus, I'm an excellent bagger now.

Also, I was 16 when I had that job.

McDonalds at 14 years old. I was determined to buy my own clothes at Wet Seal and Casual Contempo since my mother would not lol. Also, I was determined to get these awesome boots at Wild Pair. Hellllloooooo McDonalds!

My first job was as a waitress at Itgen's Ice Cream Parlor. It was the best job I ever had.

Besides babysitting- I worked in a Dentist office cleaning up after hours. I learned how to steralize the equipment and develop x-rays.

ETA- i was 15 years old

Other than babysitting... McDonald's when I was 16... my first 'real job' was a Compliance Specialist at John Hancock.

I know!!! I am too big for it now...but omg I used to love it there!!! I must have applied to work there like 5 times so I could get a discount. lol They never hired me though...boo! My next job was pottery barn...seriously...what 16 year old wants ANYTHING from pottery barn? lol
