Making your wedding dress into a baby's blanket??

Does anyone know how to do this, who to contact? Has anyone done it before? I have not even cleaned it yet, plus there are no babies coming along anytime soon, so this would be a while away, but just looking for info.

I have never heard of making it into a blanket, though I think it would involve quilting.

I have heard about making it into a christening dress.

i want to make my dress into a christening outfit i think its a great idea i have thought about this for some time. but i also still have my chirstening outfit so im torn. i think the blanket idea is great too

my mom had hers made into a christening outfit! They used the train and some of the applique from the dress! She did it about 4 years after she was married!

A friend did it for her but any good seamstress should be able to handle it!
