my kitty
bit me this weekend
he's been so bad lately! he keeps running out the door and climbing out the windows and he's not allowed outside! when we go out to get him he just runs and runs and we have to chase him down
when he got out on saturday i went out to get him and he got so mad at me he bit me! it's partially my fault bc the neighbors came over to talk to me about him bc he has fukced up back legs and they thought he was a raccoon
and he HATES, i mean HATES anyone that's not me or dh. he started growling and hissing and then he just went crazy and started biting me
then fil came over yesterday to help dh with the new electric in the house and he kept growling and hissing whenever fil would come within a few feet of him. he kept going into the basement too and and he's not allowed down there either bc there are open walls and nails and stuff and he can get hurt!
it makes me so sad to be mean and discipline him but i can't just let him do that shitt!

Re: my kitty
Maybe there is something medically wrong? Is this a big change in his behavior?

no not really... just the whole going outside thing! he has been nasty to other people since we got him neutered and the fing nurse at the vet treated him like poopoo so it's not really weird that he freaked when the neighbors were around

Re: my kitty
i hate to say it but you cannot discipline a cat. they do what they want to do.maybe you should let him out? they know where they are fed and where their home is. maybe this will get some of the aggression out
i have my 3..all indoor and 1 is a terror. he probably would be better as an outside cat

i don't think he would last outside... he has really messed up back legs and walks realllly strange. i hate to say it but he's also pretty dumb so i'm convinced he would get himself killed

Re: my kitty
I agree with Alyssa - training a cat is really hard. When my cat was a kitten we were able to train her and correct some bad behaviors using a spray bottle. We never even had to spray her, we just had to shake the bottle and she got the message.

Maybe there is something in the air...my cat has been this way too! He has been darting for the door lately and he got out for 3 days when DH and I were on our honeymoon...my sis was watching him for us and he ran when she opened the door. He is most definitely not an outside cat (has no claws) and actually got beat up pretty bad when we found him. 500 dollars later on stitches, medicine and blood work and the freakin thing is still trying to get out! Cats just do their own thing, and it's very frustrating!

Wow - maybe it was the day we choose for our wedding - because when I got back from my HM my cat had a crazy eye infection that she needed surgery on!! So $2500 and a depressed cat wearing a cone for the next few days - makes me want to never go on vacation again
