Re: newlywed poll

hm good guestion, for a while the electic kettle was sitting there so we exchanged it. it wasnt that much faster than just boiling water on the stove and for someone who doesnt make tea more than a few times a year, it was a waste. besides that, i cant really say that much... only thing which is kinda different but we registered for some king sheets, skirts, etc. in hopes and thoughts that we would have a king mattress when we bought a house but now it ends up that we dont have enough room for a king so ill have to exchange that. i think to a certain extent, you have to register not thinking too far into the future. i think same goes with fine china...if you know youw ouldnt use it for 5plus year i think styles and tastes change so it might not be the best use of the registry

Re: newlywed poll

I actually use my china!!!

Things I never use...

- steam cleaner (still in the box),
- crock pot (although I know a lot of girls do get use out of theirs)
- we registered for red and white wine glasses but we only ever use the one set, the other are still in the boxes.
- 44 cup coffee urn, but that will really only ever get use on big holidays/BBQs etc.
- a griddle

Re: newlywed poll

i got all my china but not my every day dishes go figure. But whatever I had no room for and wouldnt be using I took back and used the credit for something I could use. I got so many wine glasses from my engagement gifts to the shower. I took alot of those back. I tried to take back some corning wear but it wasnt BBB and I have an extra K-cup holder which I have no idea where its from so I cant take it back.

Re: newlywed poll

We FINALLY broke out our griddle this weekend and I think it's our new favorite thing! Other then that, the only thing we haven't used yet is our deep fryer but I'm sure we'll use it eventually. Everything else we returned for store credit...

we've been using ours too!

We cooked chicken on it on the 'grill' side, and I've used the smooth side for pancakes and making quesadillas.

my waste-of-space item is a waffle iron (engagement gift). used once, now collects dust.

We used it to make pancakes and bacon (we made brunch for the mom's on Sunday). It was AWESOME and so easy to use.

I have to say though I didn't think of making quesadillas on it and now I'm excited and want to try that! It's probably easier and better clean up then a pan!

Re: newlywed poll

Ice cream maker. (After you buy all the ingredients, the half gallon is just cheaper.)

I love love love my crock pot and use it 2-3x a week during the winter.

Re: newlywed poll

We actually use almost everything that we got. I didn't use the blender for the first few months, but now we use it all the time. Things that I don't use:

-Trifle Bowl
-Soap Dispenser/Tissue Holder/Tumbler set (They were really pretty but such a PITA).
-Fruit Bowl (we just use the fridge)
