No shows

**2011 bride crashing**

Hi ladies! I have a question about no shows. I was talking about this with my MOH and she told me that she has never heard of a wedding where there were not AT LEAST 2-4 no shows, if not more. She suggested I invite 2 extra people, that way even if I have a minimum of 2 no shows, I'm covered.

Has anyone else done this?? How many no-shows did you have, if any??

We had a few no-shows (6 in total, I think, 2 I knew about a few days before the wedding) but didn't invite anyone extra to cover for it. I'm of the mind that what IF everyone does show up and then you are scrambling last minute to find chairs for everyone to sit in. But I've heard of a few ladies who told their RH a lower number than they actually had and it worked out fine. It's luck of the draw, I suppose.

We had 2 no shows. Luckily we had 2 extra people that ended up coming so it worked out perfectly!

It's easier to add on an extra spot becauseafter you pay they wont refund your money...but they will still take extra money!

We had about 6 no shows, but they were the dates we gave a few single friends.

We couldn't believe it but we have NO no-shows! We had some last minute cancellations that were for BS reasons the week of, but everyone who RSVPed, showed up.

How close to the wedding does the RH ask for the final count?

We gave ours 10 days before but we were changing it up until about 4 days before...because people forget what it's like to plan a wedding and change their minds 3 times (DH's family s*cks)

about 2 weeks in advance- i had 2 no shows but they had called the week before to let me know. i was able to invite some coworkers last minute.

I had 5:

1 girl called me the day before saying she and her guest were unable to find a way here (they're from Boston)
1 girl called the day before saying she was sick and had been in the hospital all week so she and her FH (at the time) weren't going to make it
My godfather's girlfriend was sick and didn't come

ETA: We gave our final head count the Monday before our Saturday wedding.

I think I had 4 or 5 no-shows, but I had a few unexpected people too, so it all evened out.

I think inviting a couple extras might be the way to go.

We told our reception hall 4 or 5 people less than we were supposed to have and I ended up having 3 no shows and the RH never charged us the difference so...booo yaaaa

I think I may tell the RH 2 people less. I have a feeling Imma have AT LEAST 2 no shows, but with my luck it will wind up being more.

I dont think we had any- and if we did, it didnt matter because my dad invited 4 extra people to the wedding and I found out at cocktail hour.
