So my MIL is coming over tonight for dinner so I'll make this question about inlaws.

How often do you see your inlaws? How often do you and hubby see you parents/family? Are you happy with this setup? Do you get along with your inlaws and vice versa?

We try to go to MIL's for Sunday dinner every Sunday. Sometimes we have something to do, and sometimes we see her more times during the week if there are birthdays, events. I'm happy with this. I love MIL. She's the sweetest and I'm soooo lucky to have great inlaws. Love his brothers and their wives too.

We live in the upstairs apt of my parents now (for a month now) and it was tough at first, but now we are getting used to it and it's good. There are still some days I dont see my parents or sister even though they live in the same house! He gets along well with my family, but he thinks my dad doesn't like him! I dont think that is true, but it makes me sad he feels that way.

Both of our parents live very close to us so we see them about once a week or at the very least every other week.

we use to see his fam on birthdays, thanksgiving and xmas day......now his bro lives with us and i see one of his sisters at least once a week for lunch! I LOOOVE his family!!! we also live upstairs from my grandmother which is touchy some days but overall not bad ( I dont see her everyday though) my mom comes to visit every sunday and i see my bros and sis like a see my friends sparatically lol

when we lived in ohio, almost never. we're now 20 minutes from my FIL, and i would say we seem him either once a week or once every other week. i saw my mom a lot this summer (she's now 2 hours away), but i'm guessing i'll probably see her about a weekend a month on average.

Well, DH's father passed away in January of this year so we don't see him at all, obviously. But before that we barely saw him. Maybe 2-3 times a year? And there were times when DH saw him even less, so I think even if he was around we'd never see him. MIL we see more frequently, maybe once every month or so. I didn't get along that great with FIL, but I do with MIL. And for DH's sake I wish she was around more. Same thing with his sister, DH is really close with her and even though we only lived like 35 minutes away from her, we barely saw her. BIL lives in LI (we were in Rockland County), so we saw him even less.

As far as my parents go, when we lived in NY we saw them every week and my parents love DH like he is their own son. He gets along with them as well, but he especially loves my dad. They have a really special bond for in-laws. And my brother is still in college so we used to see him every week too. He and DH get along really well, they have the same sense of humor and everything so they even have inside jokes and stuff that no one else gets. Makes me happy because my brother is one of my favorite people on earth.

We live in MIL's upstairs apartment. I do not like this set up. I still manage to avoid contact most of the time though. It is very uncomfortable. Only ~1 month to go...

We see my parents sort of infrequently, maybe 1-2x a month since they moved. They spend half the year out east (north fork), and half the year in baltimore. I wish we could see them more.

I get along with MIL on paper.
He gets along nicely with my parents, better with my dad but that's cause they fish and golf together.

we live in an apartment at my DHs parents house, so i see them more, but honestly not that often. My parents live 2 minutes away - I see them onec a week or so.

I am happy where we are and he price is right, but I would LOVE more space we plan on buying a house next summer, we have been looking online and went to a few open houses.

lucky for us we all get along and all live 5 min away from one another...

i see my parents every day..but thats for other reasons lol..and dh i would say is here 5 times a week?

his mom we go see every sunday and prob one day during the week we take her food shopping

Well, considering neither of us like his parents very much i try to avoid them whenever possible.

if Shaun didnt work with his dad everyday he would only see him when he picked Dylan up for the weekend and drops him back at home.

We see my parents pretty often when they are still in Rockaway... Less when they are in MV... but Shaun will call my mom and talk to her and she will call him...

I adore FIL and try to get out of going to my MIL apartment. She makes me crazy. We rarely see my father which is fine by me and we go out by my mom's at least once a week. We see more of DH's family because they all live like 10 mins away and my mom lives like a half hour away.

I don't see my ILs very often, THANK GOD. They live in Ohio and we don't visit them aside from at Christmas...they don't really come out here that much, mostly because they are not welcome to stay with us (we dont' have room, but I also don't want them in my house).

We see my parents a couple of times a week...they live right across town from us and they help us out with childcare for SD. I love seeing them all the time and I think that DH likes it too...they love us very much and are insanely supportive of our decisions and help us to accomplish our goals.

DH gets along very well with my parents...I get along with my FIL but I hate my MIL.

We see my mom about once a week. We also see both of my sisters a lot. I'm very close to all 3 of them and they live close by.

My dad lives in Michigan so I don't see him often.

ILs live in FL . We've seen them once since the wedding (for a day while we were on vacation in FL). It was a day too much for me.

Now that my in laws moved to PA we see them once every month or so. When they lived here I'd see them anywhere to 1-7 times a week.
We used to see my mom everyday til she moved and now I see her at least once a week.
I get along with my in laws even after my MIL and I had a fight. We were just talking on FB tonight and she tells me alot,lol.
My DH and mom have distance between them since a fallin out but I hope they will work it out.

Yup I LOVE my in-laws. Im super lucky. Of course my parents love DH to death. And my parents really get along so nicely with my in-laws so its great.

We see my parents & inlaws at least once a week. Espcially for Sunday dinner & going out to dinners. We love hanging with the family. Each set is always so much fun. (My parents i see more often as i work not far so i go for lunch often).

We see my family a lot, probably because they invite us over all the time, sunday dinners..etc

we dont see his family all that much, which im really not complaining about.
i do wish his father and little sister lived closer cuz i really wish i was more in her life...they live in jersey.

his mom lives in ny so we see her more than his fathers and brothers. brother also in jersey.
but we are constantly driving to jersey to visit, brothers, cousins, father...aunts, etc even tho nooo one ever comes to see us!!

We see my family all the time! We used to live with my Mom and still have tons of stuff at her house so we are there constantly. My Father and Step-mom are very close to us also so we see them a lot too. My brother and SIL live across the street so we are with them all the time too.

DH works with FIL at times and sees him a few times a week. I go out there maybe once every 2-3 weeks. However I talk to SIL almost everyday.

Overall we are close with our families and I wouldn't want it any other way

We see our families separately alot and then see them together mainly on holidays or birthdays.

DH goes to his moms house everyday and his dad is usually at our house daily to work on the cars with DH. I only go to his moms for the holidays or an event.

I go to my moms house once a week. DH usually comes with me on the Holiday's.

We do alot of things separately, but its what works for us

We get along with my in laws. I usually see my in laws once a week because of all the family stuff we have going on. Dh talks to his mom and dad daily at least once a day if not more. I see my parents everyday because I work with them which is awesome. Dh will only see my parents once a week if that we dont have alot going on with my family right now.
I wish DH would make more of an effort with my family but what can you do.
