*~*~*¿NWQOTD Sunday 9/12?*~*~*

I slacked off with the QOTDs...lo siento!

Here is today's:

Are you a native New Yorker? Is your DH? What kind of typical New Yorker qualities do you have? And your DH?

I'm native...born and raised in Queens. DH was born in Bangladesh and arrived in NYC when he was about 8.

I get impatient with slow-walking tourists, won't eat bagels from other regions, know the subway like the back of my hand, and proudly give the middle finger to anyone that deserves it. Which is a LOT of people. DH can't tolerate bad pizza, drives like a beast through Manhattan and screams at our neighbors who insist on blaring reggaeton and bollywood music at like 2 a.m.

Re: *~*~*¿NWQOTD Sunday 9/12?*~*~*

I'm from western Nassau and DH is from Brooklyn - we now live in Queens. We are both typical New Yorkers - fast paced and angry. We actually have decided that we dislike this lifestyle and want to move far away from it, so DH is actively putting in for transfers at his jobs so we can enjoy a bit of a slower pace of life.

I never thought I'd want to leave New York but it's just not doing it for me anymore.

Both native NYers....LIers actually!

I think I have a thick LI accent, I am impatient with slow anything, I think I am aggressive driver, and I curse a lot!!!! DH is a food snob and rates pizza and bagels so we would never be able to move out of NY! LOL

I'm originally from LI but moved to Queens when I was 3. My DH is from Staten Island and no, he doesn't fist pump.

I'm a food snob and pretty much hate tourists or anything touristy. I get an accent when I'm mad.

Sounds like DH and I except last time they had an Indian wedding on our block (and they have them quite often, even though there's only 2 Indian households on the block) we went outside and joined the party. It was crazy- everyone was dancing in the street and everything- some of them looked like professional dancers.

We are both native New Yorkers- both born and raised in Queens. In fact we lived blocks away each other for years and years and never met. lol!

Re: *~*~*¿NWQOTD Sunday 9/12?*~*~*

DH and I were both born and raised in Suffolk County, LI but we are now living in Virginia. He's been down here 5 years. I am here for 1.

People down here are so slow and I find myself very impatient because I'm so used to fast paced.

And sorry but the bagels from Dunkin Donuts or Lender's are not bagels. Pizza? Forget about it! It's not even close!

We ended up down here because at the time it was best for us but we're considering going back to Suffolk. Besides, the money we are saving on property taxes, we are probably spending on paying full price greeting cards. There are NO 50% off cards and gifts here. I <3 NY and I have a good feeling I'll be back. For good.

PS: No offense to the South but they invented mirrors for a reason. I don't think these people look at themselves before they leave the house.

We're both native NYer's. DH grew up in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn and I'm from Ozone Park, Queens. We both have the respective accents, talk loud, have road rage like no other and are pizza snobs.

Re: *~*~*¿NWQOTD Sunday 9/12?*~*~*

We're both native NYers but I think I'm much more the typical NYer than DH is. I'm opinionated, impatient, talk fast, move fast, like to wear black, fiercely loyal, etc. DH is more the kind of person who goes with the flow, very California.

Re: *~*~*¿NWQOTD Sunday 9/12?*~*~*

i was actually born in D.C, and moved to LI when I was 5. my parents are divorced so i also lived in Manhattan for half my life. one thing people always comment on is how i change my pace in walking immediately as soon as i get off the LIRR and into penn station. i can't help it, i don't want to get lost in the crowd!

Re: *~*~*¿NWQOTD Sunday 9/12?*~*~*

I am a NYer born and raised...DH was born in the Chicago suburbs where he lived until SD was born...then they moved to Ohio (20 min south of Dayton) to be near my ILs.

I am a typical NYer in many ways...I am very impatient while driving, I curse up a storm, I am very pushy when I feel like someone is getting in the way of something I want/need, I'm a bagel and pizza snob...I think NY is finally rubbing off on DH some because he's a little more ready to stand up and take what he wants instead of being a polite midwesterner

Yes we are both NYers (proudly). I am the typical Nyer. I hate slow walkers, people that jump on celebs when they see them, people who dont have their order prepared or money out & ready. Ugg i can go on & on.

Re: *~*~*¿NWQOTD Sunday 9/12?*~*~*

DH & I are both native NYers. He is from Queens and I'm from Throggs Neck (bx) but went to HS in the city and college in Westchester.

We are both VERY NY. We are impatient, loud, picky, kinda rude, fast paced, hate people who stand too close and invade our personal space, always up for anything, fashionable we dress up for everything, hate people who stare at buildings, walk too slow, are too friendly (you know those people when you are busy or listening too your ipod and they try to talk too you anyway ) , I could go on and on.....
