Re: ***OFFICIAL NEWLYWED COOKBOOK THREAD***

McCormick's Chili Recipe

1 packet of McCormick's Chili Recipe
1 lb of chop meat (beef or turkey)
2 8oz cans of tomato sauce OR 1 14.5oz can of diced tomatoes
salt
pepper
chili powder
adobo
1 onion chopped
3 gloves of garlic chopped

Brown meat in bottom on sauce pan. Drain meat.
Add all sauce/died tomatoes, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, chili powder, and adobo. I just sprinkle on the salt, pepper, chili powder, and adobo on top to coat the meat. Stir and let it simmer for 30-45 minutes. Taste and add more seasoning if needed.

Serve with sour cream and shredded cheddar cheese.

One of the easiest things to make and can add almost any other flavoring desired.

Re: ***OFFICIAL NEWLYWED COOKBOOK THREAD***

Sweet and Sour Meatballs

This might sound GROSS but trust me...you'll love it! Can be served as an appetizer at parties or as a main dish served over noodles.

1 jar of grape jelly (get a big size)
1 bottle of ketchup (get a size that is close or matches the size of the grape jelly the best)
1 bag of frozen meatballs (or you can make the meatballs yourself)

Coat the bottom of a sauce pan with light oil to avoid burning. Place flame on med-high heat. Pour in the whole jar of grape jelly. Let the jelly melt in the sauce pan. Add the whole bottle of ketchup. Mix 2 ingredients together into well blended. If desired just use 1 droplet of BBQ sauce (not too much, just one plop) After mixture is melted together and blended, add in the meatballs (if you made meatballs from scratch make sure that you browned the meatballs before placing them in the sauce but if they are the frozen kind, just pour them right into the mixture). Mix the meatballs with the mixture and make sure all meatballs are covered with the sauce. Place a cover on the pan to avoid splatter.

Stir meatballs every so often. Cook for about 45-60 minutes and serve. I like to serve this over regular wide noodles. Also an easy and quick recipe.

Re: ***OFFICIAL NEWLYWED COOKBOOK THREAD***

Baked Buffalo Chicken Pasta

serves 4-6

1 pound pasta (I used whole wheat orecchiette)

3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cooked and cut into chunks

1 tablespoon butter

1 tablespoon flour

1 1/2 cups milk

4 ounces grated monterey jack cheese (I used half a brick) + more for topping

1/3 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese + more for topping

1/3 cup buffalo wing sauce

1/3 cup panko bread crumbs

salt and pepper to taste

for garnish: 3/4 cup chopped green onions, 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, 1/2 cup gorgonzola cheese, additional buffalo wing sauce

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Prepare water for pasta and cook according to directions.

While pasta is cooking, heat a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add the butter, and once it’s melted and bubbly add the flour. Whisk together to create a roux and cook for 1-2 minutes until mixture gets a bit golden in color. Add milk, stir and turn down heat to low. Continue stirring until milk thickens. Add in grated cheeses and continue to stir until mixture is smooth. Stir in buffalo wing sauce. Taste and season with salt and pepper if needed.

Spray a baking dish (9 x 13 is fine, I used a round 4-inch deep dish) with non-stick spray. Add pasta and chicken, then pour cheese sauce over and mix throughly until everything is coated. Sprinkle with additional grated cheese and bread crumbs. Bake for 25 minutes or until cheese is golden brown. Remove from oven and immediately top with gorgonzola, green onions and cilantro. Drizzle with buffalo wing sauce.

Re: ***OFFICIAL NEWLYWED COOKBOOK THREAD***

Mama Stew

Ingredients
2 tbsp. olive oil
2-3 large white onions, coarsely chopped
2 ½ lbs. beef chuck
3 cloves garlic, chopped
1 tbsp. salt
8 0z. tomato sauce
balsamic vinegar
red wine
1 bouillon cube (optional)

1. Saute onions in olive oil in a soup pot over a light flame until they are translucent. Add garlic and salt.
2. In the meantime, cube meat, removing fat.
3. Add meat to onions and saute on all sides until lightly browned.
4. Add a generous splash of balsamic. Let evaporate. Add a generous splash of red wine. Let evaporate.
5. Add tomato sauce, bouillon, and enough water to cover the meat.
6. Lower flame and let simmer for a few hours, until the meat is tender, adding water as needed but basically leaving it alone. Don’t get fussy. It’s stew; it’s supposed to be easy. (If you want more vegetables, add carrots, potatoes, and baby onions.)
7. Serve with good, crusty bread. You’ll want to soak up the great sauce.

Re: ***OFFICIAL NEWLYWED COOKBOOK THREAD***

Oreo Pudding Pie

One Oreo premade Crust (its black like crumbled oreo cookie crumbs
One tub of Cool Whip (no substitutions)
One box of Oreo Cakesters (the cakey ones that are soft)You are only using 4 of the cakesters out of the box.
2 Jell-Oreo pudding boxes.
2½ cups of milk.

in a large bowl, combine milk and Jell-Oreo pudding boxes. Mis for 2 full minutes.
Pour into the premade oreo crust. Set in the fridge for at least 4 hours, but i usually let my cake sit for at least 6-8 hours and it tastes so much better.

Thaw cool whip for at least ½ before use.

Once the pie is set, cut up 4 of the oreo cakesters into tiny bits and sprinkle all over the top of the pie. scoup cool whip and place all over the top of the pie so that all of the oreo filling is covered. I usually let it set for another 1 or 2 before i serve it.
Prep time is less than 10 mintes - super easy and seriously delish! DH asks for this regularly!

I got this receipe off the Orea Crust Label, the recipe was on the other side.
