On average, how much do you spend food shopping?
I swear I'm spending wayyy too much. Before DH and I lived together, I spent about $30-40/week on my groceries for me.Now we're living together and each week, its at least $100. Yesterday was $120. I always buy everything on sale and I even usually go to 2 stores to get the best deals.
I dont know if I just buy alot of food...or maybe because I buy alot of healthy food, which can sometimes be more money. Or maybe we just eat alot (which we do)
Just wondering if I'm spending a normal amount for the two of us.

waldbaums is very expensive in comparison to other grocery stores!
if we shop well and plan all of our meals out for the week, we probably spend about $100-$120/week.

I have the same issue! I cannot believe how much $$ I spend feeding DH!!! I lived alone forever and would spend anywhere between $25 and $40 a week. Now it's at least $100 a week!!

I think also, prices seem to have gone up.... so in addition to the addition of a DH mouth to feed... food in general seems to be more expensive.I think your numbers seem normal Colleen. Also, healthier foods cost more.
ETA: we could easily spend 100 a week on food shopping. I tend to skip weeks and even months... then it's 300 and up to 500!!!!

Re: On average, how much do you spend food shopping?
Probably about $120 a week on average. DH has a bad habit of likeing to 'try' things that I know he won't like . . . and then I'm right, of course.

Re: On average, how much do you spend food shopping?
We spend like 100-140 and it lasts us about a month and a half. I would avoidWaldbaum's. Their prices are rediculous.

Re: On average, how much do you spend food shopping?
probably about $500 a month. DH only drinks seltzer, and he drinks about 12 cans and 4 1-liter bottles per day, so that adds up. a LOT.

Re: On average, how much do you spend food shopping?
Depends...I cook a lot and we tend to bring our lunches from home.In an average week, we spend about $70 - $90.
We buy mostly healthy stuff...LOTS of produce too...it adds up, but I'd rather pay more and eat healthy than deal with health issues later on, caused by eating poorly!

Re: On average, how much do you spend food shopping?
it depends...if we dont need meat or chicken in the house, i try to go light and i'll spend around $50-$65. If it's a week where we need meats then I can spend up to $100.
I used to go to 2 stores also to get whatever was on sale at each store, but a lot of people told me not to do that because then when you go to the 2nd store you end up seeing other things you may want or that are on sale and in the end u end up spending more money than if you just went shopping at 1 store.
