personality tests

I've had to take an assortment of personality tests (meyers b, etc) for a class I'm taking called 'managing high performance teams' with the simple underlying premise that if you better understand yourself you can better manage others.

Below is a link for a short and fun personality test - take it if you're bored!

http://similarminds.com/personality_tests.html

Take the 'JUNG short test' - the link is located in the right column towards the top.

Here are my results...

Jung Test Results

Extroverted (E) 59.46% Introverted (I) 40.54%
Sensing (S) 51.61% Intuitive (N) 48.39%
Feeling (F) 58.33% Thinking (T) 41.67%
Perceiving (P) 59.46% Judging (J) 40.54%

Your type is: ESFP

ESFP - 'Entertainer'. Radiates attractive warmth and optimism. Smooth, witty, charming, clever. Fun to be with. Very generous. 8.5% of the total population.

Re: personality tests

Feeling (F) 57.5% Thinking (T) 42.5%

Your type is: ESFJ

ESFJ - 'Seller'. Most sociable of all types. Nurturer of harmony. Outstanding host or hostesses. 12.3% of total population

ETA all this wikipedia stuff:
ESFJs focus on the outside world and assess their experiences subjectively. They largely base their judgments on their belief system and on the effects of actions on people. ESFJs are literal and concrete, trusting the specific, factual information gathered through their physiological senses.

ESFJs project warmth through a genuine interest in the well-being of others. They are often skilled at bringing out the best in people, and they want to understand other points of view. They are serious about their responsibilities, seeing what needs to be done and then doing it. Generally proficient at detailed tasks, they enjoy doing little things that make life easier for others. They value tradition and the security it offers.

Easily hurt, ESFJs seek approval. They take pleasure in other people's happiness. They give generously but expect appreciation in return. Sensitive to the physical needs of others, they respond by offering practical care. As expert people readers, ESFJs often adapt their manner to meet the expectations of others. However, they may have difficulty recognizing the shortcomings of loved ones.

ESFJs tend to be vocal in expressing their sense of right and wrong. Their value system derives from the external standards defined by their community, as opposed to a personal set of ethics. (This is one of the traits that distinguishes them from their ENFJ counterparts.) ESFJs raised in an environment of high ethical standards tend to display true generosity and kindness. However, those who grow up surrounded by a skewed set of values may develop a false sense of integrity and use their people skills to selfishly manipulate others—particularly if their intuition is poorly developed, leaving them unable to foresee the consequences of their actions.

ESFJs seek structured, controlled environments, and tend to be good at creating a sense of order. They generally feel insecure in an atmosphere of uncertainty. They value the rule of law and expect the same of others. ESFJs may be less interested in understanding the concepts behind the rules, tending to shy away from the abstract and impersonal.[12]

Re: personality tests

Heather -- we are a letter off but... I still love you biggest.

Also I'm like a borderline ISFJ ... my Extroverted is is suuuuper low.

I think it's because even though I'm great with large groups -- I generally am annoyed with most people

So all the questions that are like 'Do you like to spend your leisure time at home?' are like 'Uhhh...well we do sit at home watching a lot of TV insteadof going out and dealing with people...'

Re: personality tests

SO glad you ladies are enjoying this!

I will post additional links.

The results can be uncanny, right?!

I think there is a lot to be said about having a deeper understanding of 'who you are' in terms of why you behave certain ways, take certain jobs, etc etc....I love this kind of stuff.

I read my results to DH (I've take dozens of similar tests and I always read him my results....haha) and he said the only adjective he doesn't agree with for me is 'SMOOTH'!!! This was shortly after I exploded a bottle of seltzer and then proceeded to slip in the puddle.
