Please Help - Is Mexico Safe right now?

I'm supposed to go for our first wedding anniversary next week to Riviera Maya. Is it safe there? I'm hearing all about kidnapping, robbery, drug lords . . .

i honeymooned there back on April & it was completely safe

i was told all that is going on on the western side by Tijuana.. far from Riviera Maya.... you should be good

I also had my Honeymoon in Rivera Maya last September and it's totally safe. Anything you hear is going on at the boarder.

I went in April on our honeymoon. We stayed at Excellence Playa Muejaras which is a little north of cancun it was fine we had an amazing time and we are going back in November since we have a destination wedding to go to. We were told not to go to Mexico City or the towns near the border that is were a lot of the problems with the drugs and kidnappings.

Was there 3 weeks ago it was fine. Just stay at the resort or go on tours that you book through the resort

DH and I just got back from the Mayan Rivera a week ago and felt totally safe the whole time we were there. We went on one excusrsion from our resort to Xel-Ha (so much fun!) and felt safe the whole time. I am hearing that all of that trouble is on the other side of the country. Just be smart and use your best judgment
