QOTD ~ Tuesday, 4/19

I was hearing on the news this morning that they NFL schedule was coming out today while they're still in talks and the season isn't definitely on right now. But they did say since 9/11 fell on a Sunday that the Jets were going to play the Giants.

Do you think it's a good thing or a bad thing?

I'm kinda torn here - it'd be alot of NY pride in one stadium and watching the game but I don't like dividing NY'ers. KWIM?

I'm okay with it.

Because...if you don't want to attend/watch it, then don't.

I don't think it was an accident that it was planned that way, and I do think that perhaps they're trying to give people something fun/positive to do that day...something other than opening old wounds.

And I say this as someone who did lose people that day...and was downtown that day...and whose father and uncle worked at the Pit in the days/weeks/months after.

I'm sure that the NFL will do something tasteful to commemorate the ten-year anniversary of it. Well, I hope so anyway.

ETA: Also, many networks will most likely be broadcasting the memorial services throughout the day, as they have all of the other years. This year will be a big one...ten years (I can't believe it's been that long)...having the football game on means that people who don't want to watch the services...or all of the services...can tune in to something else. And yeah, I know, anyone with cable have eleventy billion channels, but still. I love this city more than most things in life, and even I think it's fine to broadcast a Jets/Giants game that day.

I just know how some of the guys I know act towards the other NY team fans....can't we all just get along?? lol!
