QOTD: What's your favorite SUPERMARKET?

One of the things I like about my new neighborhood is that I have a variety of supermarkets. So far I think Waldbaum's has good produce but I think they are expensive? Not sure about Pathmark or King Kullen?

I was just wondering which supermarket do you like best and why?

Kings in Merrick because its clean with fresh produce, great cuts of meat and they have the best customer service around! Second place would be Fairway in Plainview for special occaison food.

Key Food in Floral Park they have a huge selection of Irish goods

My Fav is Kings in Merrick.. but its a little pricey, so I only go there when I am having company.

Mostly STOP and SHOP.. but the kids that work there are MORONS!!!! At night try and find someone over the age of 18...theres no one..

I agree. I got a big thing of breyers Ice Cream for like a dollar and change. It is normally over 5 dollars, was on sale for 50%, then I had a coupon and Stop and Shop doubles the coupon so in the end it costed me a little over 1.00.

My cabinet is filled with about 100 progresso soups. I am not kidding. They are normally 2.99 a piece on sale for 99 cents, limit 8 at a time, so I would go in at 8am buy 8 cans, go back at 3pm when it was a new shift, buy 8 more cans, go back at night, 8 more cans, send FI in, 8 more cans, etc....I am definatly prepared for winter

I like the deals on soda. This week its 79 cents a bottle, plus they give you the 5 cents off for bottle return so a 2 liter bottle of soda is 75 cents.

I love love love those deals

Forget King Kullen, their prices are higher than everyone!!
pathmark is pretty good but kinda far down from where we are
I like waldbaums and stop and shop the best.....
we can shop together

the new stop and shop on hempstead tpke next to walmart is really nice! I went there yesterday

stop and shop is the best if you have two or three of the same coupon too for e.g.
they have GG vegt in the freezer box for 99 cents...... I have a 60 cent coupon off THREE
I gave the guy two of those coupons and both doubled ,
in waldbaums if you have more than one of the same coupon, they only double one

I like Pathmark.....mostly cause its 1 block from my house, but they have some pretty good deals, although the meat selection is so so

Stop & Shop doubles your coupons??? I had no idea that's great. I went to Waldbaum's b/c they sent me a new neighbor coupon for $5 off every week for 2 months.

Irene if you go to stop and shop they sent me grand opening 5.00 off coupons for the next five weeks..... tell them you didnt get it!

pathmark, waldbaums, and Stop and shop all double coupons but waldbaums does not double multiple ones and pathmark only doubles up to 40 or 50 cents
stop and shop is the best for double couopons

Make sure you tell them that you just moved in and all your neighbors got the five dollar off coupons , I think there are five of them, one for each week and they didnt mail it to you, Im sure if you ask the manager they will give them to you or take 5.00 off your order

you have to spend 30 bucks but that is easy to do, especially this week they have so many specials! like maxwell house coffee, 99 cents a can limit 2 and tons more
I spent like 77.00 but got a lot!

Does anyone know if Stop&Shop is open 24 hrs?

Pathmark is very close to our house and open 24 hrs. We are getting tired of it so we've recently been going to King Kullen (which is actually further than the nearest Stop&Shop) but we feel it is more expensive. Stop & Shop is only a few minutes further than Pathmark but we haven't tried it...............Now we will!!!!
