Re: recommendations for flat screen tv

most are good ... just make sure you get a 1080p tv and not a 720p one (1080 = much better quality)

Samsung is one of the more affordable brands which is still good (i have one)

Sony is really good but are generally much more pricey

We have a Samsung 1080 and it is great! I think it is 42'...? The picture quality is great and it definitely meets all of our needs. Neither of us are huge tv people though. DH was sports sports sports sports sports and the HD looks great on this tv

Re: recommendations for flat screen tv

My parents have a Vizio and love it. Now they are more popular so they might be a little more pricey but since it wasn't Samsung or Sony it was really cheap when they bought it.

They actually have a 32' Vizio on woot.com (sellout section) for $250.

we have Insignia 32'. we love it. I really didnt expect it to be as good as it is. its no Samsung which picture I like the most, but its def a very very good TV
but Janis if ur into cool features like refresh rate and ratios and all that stuff then u need to shop around and read lots of reviews

oh and my cousins have a Toshiba 55' and they hate it

Mor honestly who cares??? do u really notice that big of a difference?
I mean there is but its so slight that honestly (and this coming from the biggest couch potato) its nothing major
but then again, it depends what Janis wants to hook up to the TV and what she will be doing with it. if for games then I guess 1080 is def the way to go

idk - my brother had a 720p tv and the picture looked only slightly better than non-HD ... not sure if he had it hooked up badly or whatnot though....

bottom line, i think if you're going to buy something for the living room, it does matter ... if it's a bedroom tv, it prob doesn't matter too much
