Sandals st Lucia la toc
Anyone have any reviews?Hubby and I have not had our honeymoon yet and while we still don't know when we can I really wanna start thinking about it.
We want to go to carribean with pretty beaches but a lot of activities. Would prefer all inclusive.

Re: Sandals st Lucia la toc
I stayed at the sandals grand in st Lucia for my honeymoon and loved it there. I believe it is the la toc. We had a blast and there were activities going on all day as well as plenty of excursions. I highly recommend St Lucia. If you have any questions feel free to fm me.

We didn't stay at La Toc, but stayed at the Grande in St. Lucia. The beach there was BEAAAUTIFUL. Out of the three in St. Lucia, it has the best beach. La Toc has the most restaurants, but it's so easy to go back and forth between the three that you can access all three places for restaurants.Loved St. Lucia, can't wait to go back!

Re: Sandals st Lucia la toc
we stayed there last year for our anniversary and it was amazing! It definetly had the most to do out of the three but it is so easy to go between the three so we ended up spending some days at the Grande as well which is BEAUTIFUL. But for food and activities it had the most going on so I would def recommend it. Our friends stayed at the Grande at the same time and they agreed-they would frequent LaToc for activities and restaurants.HTH

That was me!!! I had the worst time of my life at La Toc...I'm (hopefully) the minority on this...and based on the reviews and postings here, I think I am.

Re: Sandals st Lucia la toc
We had the absolute time of our lives at La Toc.The resort was absolutely beautiful. I felt it was definitely the right resort for us. We were in the Sunset Bluff Butler only area and it was definitely more our speed. We had a quieter pool up there(more mellow music, no activities, just a bar, a pool, a jacuzzi, nicer chairs, and an amazing sunset view). The main pool is VERY crowded, loud, lots of activities, more younger people in 'party' mode. It has a great beach view though. The Grande is much more like the main area of our resort, it seemed to appeal to younger couples and people who wanted to party, etc. We loved the much more laid back sunset pool.
We had 2 dinners at the La Toc restaurant (one was room service...yum) which were 2 of the best meals of my life. Our sunset dinner on the beach was also excellent. We had a great experience at the spa. Out couples massage was SO relaxing. We ended up being the only ones at our SCUBA lesson and that was also amazing. We did a dive right off the beach.
Our room was absolutely beautiful. The view was breathtaking. Our mini fridge and in-room bar were always stocked with exactly what we requested, we always had fresh ice. Our Butlers reserved us spots at the beach and pool and then brought us coolers, forzen drinks, and snacks. We'd come home from excursions to find snacks or dessert in the room. A few times we came home to a bubble bath with flower petals, candles lit, and soft music playing. We got every reservation we wanted and we ordered room service many times. We were woken up with breakfast delivered while we were still in bed every morning. OMG it was HEAVEN. What else can I tell you about? They decorated the room and brought a cake for my DH's birthday. They were like Ninja's. Everywhere we went people asked us how we were enjoying our time and what our room number was. I think they somehow radioed that back to our butlers, or lese they just kept good track of our schedule because they'd always maintain the room (to the point of folding all of our clothes, etc) and leave treats while we were away.
CONS:
La Toc's beach is a little smaller than the Grande. it's also on a side of the island that is rainier (it rained a littl every day), and has a rougher surf, so there were 'red flag' days on the beach.
I really didn't like the tour desk. They didn't give a crap about anything. Our 'romantic sunset cruise' was really a waste of money. It had LOUD music and people interrupted us kissing to give us drinks. It was not fun.
We had signed up for a dlphin and whale watching adventure. After being disappointed with the sunsedt cruise I asked would we really see dolphins? The lady at the tour desk said 'I guarantee you will see whales and dolphins' Guess what? a SEVEN hour boat ride in the hot sun, and not a single whale or dolphin...just the guides telling us how many whales they had seen yesterday. LAter someone told me it wasn't really W/D season.
Rainforest canopy tour was underwhelming. the St. Lucia Rainforest isn't like Costa Rica. We really didn't see much interesting wildlife there.
The one tour I LOVED was one they tried to talk us out of which was Joe Knows. That was a BLAST.
If I had to do it again, I would not book nerly as many excursions.
One good thing though was that Guest Services called us to check in and when I expressed disappointment with the excursions, they gave us a credit for the cost of one of them. I thought that was really nice.
Another Con, as expressed by the poster with the neg experience is that sometimes service is a bit slow. They are definitely on 'Island Time' there. You have to be willing to slow down, or just get someone's attention. We tried to just go with the flow and take it all in.
We left our bathing suits on the patio and ants got in them, so we had them cleaned and had tha patio cleaned, which they did immediately. Then we hung our bathing suits near the tub . One day housekeeping or one of the butlers put them back out there and they got ants again. They came and got them, cleaned them for free and brought them back.
Overall we LOVED it and wish we'd not done as many excursions and spent more time diving and enjoying the resort. The resort was beautiful. Our Butlers were great. I forgot my glasses, they brought them to me. I wanted a special drink by the pool, I got it, usually without asking. We were not limited to the room service menu. I could get ANY meal from ANY restaurant that was open. We were only limited to the room service menu overnight basically. You can order like 3 entrees if you want to taste everything and I felt everyone (except the tour desk) was genuinely happy to help us.
