Seaside Heights - Jersey Shore influence
Well we hit the Seaside boardwalk for the first time since the Jersey Shore hit the MTV airwaves and boy was it interesting...First of all are they capitalizing on it, with GTL shirts and snack stands advertising the Snookie Sandwich.
Secondly what a difference in the crowd. I know the shore attracts some strange people, but I have never seen so many sequence covered bathing suits and wife beaters in all the years I have been going down there.
We did see the store where they worked which is cleaning up by selling Jersey Shore underwear.

Oh god. It was that bad? I've actually only been to Sea Side once when I was in High School and it was crappy back then too. I like point pleasant much better since it seems there's less of the type you described there lol.

haha...I think the Jersey Shore is hysterical but maybe not so much if it were in my backyard but I have to say I wouldnt set foot on the Jersey Shore even pre MTV! And also, do you mean sequin bikinis? I don't understand what a sequence bathing suit might look like!

You guys aren't fans of the 'Gorilla juiceheads???'
I rented a house down there like 8 years ago and it was similar to the show but not that bad. I can imagine ppl are just going there now 'to be like the kids on the show' Wearing the wife beaters, A/X and Ed Hardy.

Re: Seaside Heights - Jersey Shore influence
DH's family has a house in Seaside Park which is away from the craziness of the boardwalk. It's South of the Heights and a real family area but you can easily get to the boardwalk if you want to get some good junk food, play some games or hit the bars. I love the boardwalk. Don't get me wrong there are always those people, but they were always the minority. Now they are EVERYWHERE!!!! Even down in Seaside Park where all you saw before was families. I have to admit I watched that show, but now I HATE IT!!!!! It wrecked our nice shore area.
