selling past bridesmaid dresses

so in an effort to manage my closet and generate some extra cash money i've decided to sell some of my past bridesmaid dresses on ebay!

have you ever seen a white bridesmaids dress before? my friend vanessa had 4 bridesmaids and had us all in white...same dress.

this dress is actually really pretty on...it is by Lela Rose and was 280...i'm sure I'll get a whopping 25 for it on ebay but at this point, i'll take it! Wish the pictures showed the detailing better...the collar is made of roses.

While the dress is really pretty in theory...I looked and felt like an oversized (and drunk) flower girl in it

Re: selling past bridesmaid dresses

i love some of the pictures i've seen of BMs in white.

i dont know if that was a passing trend though -- i'm not the person to ask. i wear flip flops year round.

Re: selling past bridesmaid dresses

That looks like it would be a really pretty shower dress. Maybe post on the 2012 boards?

Re: selling past bridesmaid dresses

I donated my bridesmaids dresses to a prom dress charity this past year (had some really nice expensive ones too!) because I realized the price I'd get for them wasn't worth the time or effort and an underprivileged girl would really appreciate them!

I have a navy blue sweetheart strapless long dress.....gorgeous and simple....you could wear gorgeous accessories.......it is from Vera Wang and is a size 6 with some alterations to take it in.

I wore it in a wedding last june.

You could borrow it if you need

I do love this idea! I will definitely keep it in mind for the future.

But, am I wrong for still wanting to sell them on ebay? I am really trying to hold myself to a mega-tight personal budget and we could really use the extra cash.

I think it's nice to donate them. I just donated all of my old BM dresses to the same charity. I didn't ask for one but you could always ask for a receipt for the tax write off.

Re: selling past bridesmaid dresses

I donated mine as well to Memorial Sloan Kettering for a prom that they have for children who can't leave the hospital. It felt great knowing that my dresses could be put to good use rather than sitting in my closet.
