show me a picture of your CHINA CABINET

ordering a china cabinet this wknd...just curious on how everyone sets theirs up?

do you have a few plate settings in display? or do you keep all the china in the cabinet part?

I don't have a china cabinet but if I did I would put all the good china probably in the cabinets below. The stuff I would put on display would be some heirlooms, crystal pieces, wedding cake cutter, toasting flutes...stuff like that.

We have some plates on display but I don't really like it that way. MIL kinda insisted that we do it that way. We also have glassware on the shelves. I just don't want a china cabinet in general though so we'll hopefully get rid of it soon.

im confused....

right now our china is still in boxes in our pantry...and i really need the pantry space!!!!

so im excited to have somewhere to put them....but once we get the cabinet in, im not actually sure WHAT to do with it.....

i need pictures!

this is what I would do too- I'd put the dishes in the bottom portion and then keep the fancy crystal and such on display.

That being said, my apartment is the size of my cubicle so I'm lucky I have a cabinet for food. My china and crystal are in boxes at my grandmas.

You don't need crystal. You can put your headpiece from your wedding, your invitation and thank you. Unity candle, wine glasses, pictures, gravy boat, serving boals, etc etc etc It's yours. Get creative.

since i live in a teeny apt w/ no kitchen storage, most of our stuff is in an armoire (with no windows) just like stacked like normal plates.

But I really like the corner china closets - I feel like they save space and you don't really need a huge behemoth piece of furniture!

Our china cabinet is small, and we have a lot of 'regular' stemware and drinkware, so that's all in the cabinet. Right now our fine china and fine crystal is in the boxes in a closet.

I have 4 sets of china, 4 sets of 3 types of stemware to match the china and other coordinating pieces and then a bunch of crystal
