Simply Fondue vs. Melting Pot

We are meeting up with some friends tonight after dinner for drinks (just another couple), and we're trying to figure out where to go since they are having dinner with their family before hand. We don't go out to bars/clubs very often, so don't know what's really good, and they're pretty low key like us, so we're thinking one of these two places because then we can get drinks and maybe dessert and be able to talk and stuff.

We're closer to the Melting Pot, but I've heard that Simply Fondue is nicer, more for your money and a more upscale atmosphere. We haven't been to either, so don't know what to expect.

For those who have been, which one do you think is nicer? TIA!

DH and I have been to both. We prefer Melting Pot over simply fondue.

Re: Simply Fondue vs. Melting Pot

okay I'm probably gonna get flamed for this but its JMO.

but we went to the Melting Pot and besides the fact that I got some yummy drink and the strawberries were cut into hearts (so cute), I'm not paying $$$ to cook my own food, that's why I went out in the first place. All we did there was pay for the waitress to bring us raw food that we had to cook.
Thanks but no thanks.

On a side note the food was good, but DH & I are lazy brats and would rather eat somewhere else.

Re: Simply Fondue vs. Melting Pot

Thanks for the advice....we ended up going to Simply Fondue, and really should have went to Melting Pot instead. The place was empty, which was really weird for a Saturday night, and it was in a really weird location, above a Waldbaum's and you had to go in the Waldbaum's vestibule to get in. And the service was awful, so slow, and forgetting things, which was really impressive considering there was 3 other tables there tops and all that needed to be done was pour a glass of wine and chop a banana. Oh well....now we know, next time we want fondue, I'm going to try Melting Pot or go back to Toast.
