Spinoff on the topic of Halloween costumes

I loooooooooooove Halloween but HATE that it's basically a day for women to dress up like w h o r e s. My Halloween costumes are always well thought out and creative. What kind of costume do you like to wear?

Re: Spinoff on the topic of Halloween costumes

My college ones were always pretty skanky.....I was a mermaid, a strawberry, beauty pageant contestant.

Since being w/ DH he usually works on Halloween or we just stay in. We have been

Rocky Balboa & 'A knockout'

Barbie & Ken

Re: Spinoff on the topic of Halloween costumes

I can't pull off skanky...no boobies LOL. I did 'skanky' one year when we were a dr. and nurse, but besides it just being a little short, it was pretty tame on me, because I just looked like a skinny little girl in a dress meant for someone with curves. I guess my costumes are usually pretty snarky...I like them to be subtly funny. Like one year I was a lady mobster when I was in a bit of a situation with the campus Italian club so I got my digs in that way haha...so I guess overall a combo of my kind of funny and creative.

Re: Spinoff on the topic of Halloween costumes

I like to be really creative with my costumes. The last two years I was Sookie from True Blood and Amy Winehouse the year before- complete with broken heel, I'll just pretend like that part was intentional.

ETA: Though I'm not gonna lie and say my costumes are conservative either, at least in my view. I guess they are compared to some of the costumes like this:
