spinoff to throwing stuff out- my flea market

I do a flea market twice a year to fundraise for my job, done by me and 6 staff. . 100% of the money we make goes towards a dinner dance at Christmas time for our senior citizens. They eat, dance, drink, live it up for 5 hours on a Sunday night. They have a blast and we don't charge them a penny. It costs about $10,000 all of it paid for from fundraising.

We get the stuff to sell through donations from our coworkers and neighbors. Just wanted to put it out there that if any of you have stuff that you want to get rid of (especially housewares, tvs and furniture) we take donations!

We don't normally advertise that we take donations because getting donations from random people who we don't know personally might bring in an infestation of bedbugs!! Since my agency runs a huge amount of the housing in the community, we mostly know who has them or not.

But anyway if you have stuff to give away and are willing to drop it off at my agency (in brooklyn) or my moms house (nassau), it would be a million times appreciated and I can give you a receipt for your taxes!

We're going to be cleaning out our basement soon so I'll keep this in mind. I never know where to take these things!!!

this is awesome! when do you need to stuff by?

will you even take the OLD (non-flat screen) tvs??
