Tattoo?
Sooo, I've been wanting to get a tattoo to commemorate our wedding day on my inner wrist. At first I was considering just our date, but meh, that's boring. Then someone said they had their wedding date in roman numerals, which is still okay, but I wasn't sure how I liked it. (I'd get V.XIV.X for 5.14.10.) Then I was considering just Dan's name in script which I love but makes me nervous. Then I thought, I would also really like something with my maiden name, what about those tattoos that say one thing one way, and another thing upside down. (Ambigrams, so I've learned.) I wasn't sure if it was feasible with our names, but I think it actually came out cool looking. This is just the first thing the 'ambigram generator' that I found online spit out at me, but I think I kinda like it. Most of you KNOW my maiden and married names, but I purposely left them out of this post to see if you can actually read it. Let me know what you think or if it's just a stupid idea in general. Please be honest, I don't know if I can actually read it or I just KNOW what it says, KWIM?

That's okay! lol! Do you think it's a stupid idea in general or just need a better design? Or is it too manly of an idea for a tattoo for me? That's a lot of questions, sorry. lol!

Re: Tattoo?
I dont think its a stupid idea at all... and i think whoever did it did a great job... you can definitely read both names!!!my issue is that you have to know them first otherwise its completely unrecognizeable... it just looks like a bunch of loops...

Hmmm see, I kinda like that part of it. I always love interesting tattoos that kinda need to be explained. It wouldn't work on my wrist though, I have the tiniest little wrists!

Re: Tattoo?
i'm not a really big fan of it, but maybe it's just the font that's throwing me off.Heidi Klum has a tattoo of her husband's name (Seal) on her arm...though I wouldn't get a tattoo there, I think it's cool because it doesn't look like his name unless you really study the tattoo...it just looks like original artwork!

Re: Tattoo?
I really like the idea, but with tats like that, they are pretty hard to read. You know I mean? Like, I think people would always ask what it says.

Re: Tattoo?
i love ambigrams but i'm not a fan of this particular one. Even knowing your last name(s), i still can barely read it.Maybe a different font would work better though ...

See now that I could get with! Someone gave me the name of a custom tattoo designer, so I'm going to contact them anyway and see what we can come up with, but if I could do Dan's name in a creative but pretty way, I'd like that, too.
What does everyone think of the Roman Numerals idea? I found a few fonts I liked and it looks kinda cool! I don't know why they put it on this chick's back, it'd be on my wrist.
What do you think of the font? I just thought it was different. But there's a few others that I liked, some that are more traditional.

Re: Tattoo?
i think if you do the roman numerals, you'd need a way to separate the diff numbers (month, day and year) ... it annoys me when it's just one long string of characters (but thats' my OCD i guess

No, I totally agree! I was going to just have a . or a -in between them but with the font on that one up there, the period came out as lines which was why I kinda liked that font!

i like the ambigram idea...but the font is too much. i think something more cursive/feminine (like heidi klums) would look much better!not a fan of the roman numerals

I'm not a fan. I feel like you can't read it well and it just looks like lots of lines.

Re: Tattoo?
I like the roman numeral idea MUCH better than this...I can't read it at all.If you want another idea, DH and I both got an infinity symbol tattooed on our ring fingers.
