Today's a pretty crappy day.

Sorry this is gonna be long. I'm not sure if I mentioned it on the boards, but my mother's dog, Fonzi, has a hernia. They took him to the vet as soon as they saw it, but the vet said that the hernia has been there for a long time and even accused my mom of neglecting him! Nothing could be further from the truth. I don't know how we could've missed it, I mean he's a collie so he's extremely furry, but still. NONE of us had seen anything wrong with him. So after keeping him over night for testing, the vet says on top of the hernia, he had fluid in his lungs and is having trouble breathing. Another thing I've never seen! I mean we take him out in the back with my parent's other collie, Rascal, all the time and he runs no problem! Sooo now the vet has done more tests and says that in order to get him better he needs to have surgery to remove the hernia, but Fonzi's health is deteriorating rapidly, and he's suddenly lethargic and panting heavily. The vet doesn't think he's going to make it through the surgery. My mom just called me at work crying her eyes out. I feel terrible for them. And I love Fonzi dearly, I still lived at home when we got him! Just please pray for my mom and my dad and poor Fonzi.

Thanks everyone. I feel worst for my mother. Everyone pretty much leaves the decision up to her because this is HER dog. I mean he's a family dog, but he's her baby.

I think everyone should go home and give their fur babies a good squeeze because you just never know. He's only 8 years old!
