Ugh..Need Help & Opinions Please!
Ok, so my sister's MIL is getting remarried in November. She came to my shower and my wedding and gave us a $300 gift.
We got her invitation about a month ago and on the invite it says 'your presence is the only gift we require' implying she didn't want any gifts.
However, my sister overheard her SIL and her MIL speaking about how she did want to receive gifts and she hoped people ot her gift certificates to restaurants that she liked. (this women is evil BTW and super psycho to my sister)
So, obviously she wants a gift but still put that she didn't want one on her invite.
What do DH & I do? Do we give her back the $300 she gave us? Do we get her a gift instead?
What to do!!!!!!

tough one ...if you don't like this woman, you should just get her a card and a $50 or $100 gift cert somewhere. I would write 'i know you said no gifts, but i wouldn't feel right about that'.

Considering she said she didn't want gifts on the invite, and is now saying she does, I'd probably gift her half of what she gifted you.

This!! I'd give a $150 gift certificate to a nice restaurant or store you know she likes.

i only see this woman on like holidays (not every year) and that's it, if i'm lucky. Before my wedding this year, I hadn't seen her in more than 1½ years!
Idon't know what restaurants she likes or anything. I live inBrooklyn and she is all the way out in Suffolk. My sister doesn't even know what places she likes to frequent

Re: Ugh..Need Help & Opinions Please!
looks like i'm the odd one out, but if she put no gifts on the invite, then I wouldn't get her anything. It would be different if you were close to her, but since you aren't, I'd follow her request from the invitation.Welcome New Vendors
