I don't unplug anything, but we usually have someone checking on our house

we do, but we're also pretty conservative about unplugging a lot of things when they are not being used.

No, but DH unplugs everything else. Ever since he lived in an apt where the complex had a terrible fire back in 2006, he is super paranoid about fires. Even though that fire started because an old guy on the 3rd floor put the leftover ashes from his fireplace into a cardboard box onto the wooden balcony to 'dry out'... of course a few hours later instead of drying out, they ignited. DH lost so much in that fire, it was awful.

I have never heard of anyone doing that!I could never, too many long lasting condiments and frozen food. i just don't shop for much before we leave and we try to eat or throw away anything that won't last until we get back.

Never...like someone else said if you unplug it you are going to have to replace everything (condiments).
