What did you wish for your shower???

Hi Ladies,
So, I'm throwing my cousin her bridal shower and I'm trying to think of different things to do... the theme is pink & brown and I've been pretty creative so far, but I figured that it wouldn't hurt to ask the wonderful LIW newleyweds what they wished they had at thier showers, or had that they loved. TIA

I wish someone had taken into account what I wanted, like the kind of restaurant or the kind of theme.

And if I could have had what I wanted...a tea party.

i loved the games..we had fun playing them..

1.newlywed game
2.they had a booklet at each table with some puzzles and jumbles and a what would gina say etc..
3.toliet paper bride is always fun..

i also loved the things the bm did like..

1.the underwear line with the poem bout each set of undies

2.candle poem..

and also i looooved the holiday baskets..got such great x mas and halloween etc stuff

ITA with all of these and I also would like to add the album filled with note cards with advice or kind words for the bride and groom to be!

My friends and family all helped make a giant scrapbook... everyone I'm really close to made a page or two for it and it came out awesome! It's one of my favorite things ever.

My BP also decorated martini glasses (each one has things on it that remind them of me) and had some kind of poem to go with the lingerie.

My cousin did the candle basket thing where each color represents something and honestly, all the candles are still sitting in that basket up in my closet... kind if a waste... wish i had had a lingerie clothes line instead!

I was at a shower on saturday for NOVBRIDE10 and our cousin came up with the idea of decorating wine glasses and the bride comes around at the end of the shower and picks the winners and she can either keep the winning glasses or she can let the winner take it home and the winner gets a prize. It was something fun to pass the time while we were waiting on our bride.
At my shower they did bridal shower bingo which I like because it helps to keep peoples attention at least while there are still prizes.

What I did like that DID happen:
Newlywed game
Purse scavenger hunt
One of my BM's made me an awesome scrapbook
My mom made a picture frame of me 'through the years'
Recipe cards for a 'Recipe for a Good Marriage'

The girls did something really awesome for me at my shower. They got me 6 bottles of wine that couldn't be opened until that certain day came. Each bottle had a poem on it also. The different dates were our wedding night, our 1 year anniversary, our 5 year anniversary, our first getaway, when we find out we are expecting our first baby, and when we entertain guests for the first time in our new home. I started to tear up when they did that. It was something different and creative.

I was at a friend's shower and they got her luggage and inside the luggage was a honeymoon clothes line with bathing suits, coverups, cute dresses, flip flops, etc. It was AWESOME!

My girls/Mom had a panty line... They asked every guests to bring a pair of undies in my size and strung them up on a clothes line. (I actually got the idea on here) I loved it! It was such a cute decoration and I got over 50 new pairs!

I like the wine bottles for different occasions.

The best part of a shower is always the cake and the punch or champagne, IMHO.

would have LOVED that! wine/alchol gets used in this house... not candles

Definitely more lingerie
Some homemade gifts ( ie scrapbooks, albums, something personalized)
Some sort of yummy, fruity drink- like a Mimosas or non-alcoholic if there are kids present

i like the wine idea
my MOH and mom did so many amazing little things. they made a cookbook- everyone who was invited to the shower (and many more ppl) emailed my mom a recipe and a pic of themselves. my mom's made one for both my SILs for their showers. its got tons of recipes.
my sil made so many photobooks of us and of the girls... she also took a million tiny photos of me and DH thru the years and cut and pasted them to form our initials and put it in a fram with a really nice poem.

My girls did this for me too. I loved it! My aunt gave me her penne a la vodka recipe and we got recipes for cookies and some other cool stuff. My grandma gave me her sauce recipe! That woman makes one he l l of a sauce!
