wwyd - still apartment hunting
so I have been super depressed over not knowing where the hell am I going to live in a month and a half. been going crazy over it, not able to sleep.it seems everything we can afford for a 1 BD is so small and not much of an upgrade in terms of space other than finding an apt that has a waaaay better lay out
so anyways me and DH been talking and now we're thinking in getting a 2 BD. its still would be somewhat affordable but about 300-400 more a month than what we are paying now (which was the price range we were looking for)
not sure what to do...
is it worth the extra money?
on one hand we will have way more extra storage space, an office (we both work from home - esp me lately) and will have a very nice size living room by the looks of it. best we wont be living all cramped up like little dwarfs
on other hand its shelling out more than what we expected and I am scared not to be able to make the pymnts
what do u guys think?

if you can swing the payments why not, but if you are worried about it stick to a 1 BR.

Hmmm I think you should sit down and make a budget/breakdown of all of your expenses now. Add an extra $300-$400 for rent and then see if the numbers all still work out.If you can swing it, I'd go for the 2 bedroom.

Do you guys have aspirations of buying anytime soon? (next couple/few years)....If so, I would say tough it out in a 1 bedroom because 400 a month can really add up in terms of savings.
We live in a 'large' 1 bedroom (~900sq feet) and we have totally grown out of it! Being so cramped really inspires me to SAVE CASH MONEY so we can buy a house!!!

we are thinking of buying an apt in 2-3 yrs. and our current apt is 660 sqft. we are dying! I just literally cant live like this anymore, I want a real nice apt. I really thought we will be able to find something for the same money but bigger - turns out there is nothing. and we have other venues of savings for future apt buying.
I guess I am answering my own Q. I think we might go for it. cant imagine continue living in this situation for another 2 yrs

if you both work from home and are outgrowing a 1BR GO FOR the 2BR. I bought a 1BR almost 2 years ago and we are BUSTING at the seams. So wish I considered a 2BR so we could enjoy more space and not have to move as soon as we have a baby. ARGH. bitter.

Re: wwyd - still apartment hunting
When DH and I moved in together, we moved to a 2 BR. We both do a lot of work/research at home, and a 2 BR was perfect because we could each give each other some space. When we moved in though, we were in Ohio; we only paid $450/month total! It was quite the wake-up call when we moved to Philly, but we are so glad we stuck with a 2 BR layout.

honestly, moving is a PITA!!! and it costs money too...and any new place you will also want to decorate, which means $$$. so unless you plan on stayin in the new spot for a few YEARS...i would just tough it out in your place for another year and SAVE SAVE SAVE as much as you can
