I want to first off, thank LIWeddings, because without his site, I would have had a completely different wedding day.


Weather: A+++
The week before the wedding I kept checking the weather, and on and off all week it said it would be thunderstorms. The day of, the weather was PERFECT!!! It wasn’t hot, and the breeze was amazing!!

Rings: A+ Diamond Jewelers, Selden
My DH got my engagement ring from Diamond Jewelers in Selden. We decided to go back there for our wedding rings, and I love them!! They were awesomely priced, and they are beautiful.

Invitations: A+ Weddingpaperdivas.com
I got them from Weddingpaperdivas.com. I loved their style, and I found invitations that fit our color scheme. I feel like I should have shopped around more, but I am happy with my choice.

Cake: A+++ Create-a-Cake
The cake was included in our price for the RH. The meeting took 5 minutes, I wanted something different, and she nailed my vision. The cake blew me away, and it tasted awesome!!

Limo: B Serenity Limosine
We waited until the very last minute to book limo, and we didn’t have much choice in companies to go with. Our budget was tight, and Serenity gave us a good price. They did my Bachelorette Party, and they were awesome!! The day of my wedding, we called them to push the time of pick up to later (we only paid for pick up/drop off service). They ended up coming to pick us up a good 30 minutes early, and he ended up waiting. The limo driver was not happy!!! He told me that we were going to be late for the ceremony, and he was not very nice about the whole thing. The way home we had a town car pick us up, and it was the same driver, and he was a lot nicer to us. But…they did their job….they were prompt, and the cars were clean.

Hair: A+++ Maureen Debello
She is a friend of the family that does hair out of her house. She has done my hair several times over the years, and had fixed some bad updo’s over the years. I went for 2 trials, and she did exactly what I wanted the day of, and she is very reasonably priced. She also did most of my family as well, and she did a great job. Makeup: A+++ Angelique Velez
She is someone I knew from High School, a formal Mac makeup girl, and now she does all occasions on her own. She blew me away!!! I got so many compliments on my makeup, and looking at my pictures, I feel that I still look like “me,” which was very important for me. She also both of my sister’s makeup, and she did a great job! Dress and Veil: A Adriennes in Islip
Aside from what others have said about Adriennes, I had a good experience there. They were the first place I went that did not make me feel that I was a full sized bride. Not one person made a comment about me slipping into the tiny samples, and they were super accommodating with helping me see what the dresses will look like on me when they were in my size. They weren’t pushy, and I went there several times with different people to help me make my decision, and they didn’t seem to mind that. The dress came in within 4 months, and I loved both of them.

Earrings: Etsy.com A+++
I loved them, and they were prompt in their shipping.

Garter: Ebay D
Cheaply made, and fell apart within a few hours of wearing it.

Favors: A+ Champagne glasses, Pfaltgraff
We got them on sale, and they were beautiful! We bought the organza bags off of e bay, and our tags off a website online. My mother assembled them.


Alterations: A+++ Aileen Lee, Bellport
Aileen does the costume design for the plays that my DH works on at his work. I waited until 3 weeks before the wedding to bring my dress in to be altered, and I needed A LOT of alterations. My dress originally had straps, and I was very torn on whether I should take the straps off, which is part of the reason why I procrastinated on bring the dress to be altered. Aileen said she could do it, and she worked tirelessly to get it done. The dress was very complicated to alter, due to all of the intricate beading and scallop design. She worked so hard and so long on my dress, and she did a fabulous job!!!! I could not have dreamed of the dress coming out as well as it did. She is awesome, and if anyone wants her info, FM me!

Bridesmaid Dresses: B Paradise Bridal, Patchogue
We went with Paradise Bridal because it was local, and the prices were good. The dresses came in within a few months, but I found them to be very unorganized. Everytime I went, it took longer than expected. The customer service was not stellar, but the dresses were perfect, and they came in on time.

Tuxes: B Men’s Warehouse
We went with Men’s Warehouse because we had an OOTer in our bridal party, and we figured it would be easier. The one big complaint we had with them is that we ordered a certain tux a few months before, and about a month before the wedding, they called to tell us that that tux was not available that weekend and DH had to go and pick a different style. It all worked out, even though DH wasn’t thrilled, but the boys looked great.

Florist: A++++ Flowers by RoseMarie, Sayville
My mom got her number from someone she knows. RoseMarie has a studio in her house. I met with her and told her the look I was going for, but I didn’t see a sample. I was a little nervous because of that, but I trusted her. She nailed it!! She exceeded my expectations, and I got sooo many compliments on the flowers. I originally thought we were going to have to go with low centerpieces, but she gave us a great price. She is SUPER reasonable, and does great work! I called her up the next day to tell her how blown away I was, and I got emotional on the phone. I could not recommend her enough!! If you need her info, FM me!!

Officiant, Glenn Murphy A++
Again, he was a friend of a friend of the family. I didn’t meet him until the day of the wedding, he came to our house hours before to meet me and go over our vows (I know…last minute!). But he was funny and laid back, and he made our ceremony awesome!

DJ, Perfect Parties: B+
Before the wedding, Chris was super nice and very accommodating. The day of, he did the ceremony beautifully, but I was a little unhappy with the music at the reception. It really wasn’t his fault, because I didn’t really make a playlist for him, and I thought he would be able to read the crowd. I told him to be open to requests, and he was. I was very laid back about this whole process, and everyone seemed to have a great time at the wedding. The dance floor was packed most of the night, but my advice to future brides, make a Playlist of every song you want played.

Photographer: Thomas Paul Photography A++
We went with Tom after booking another photographer, but I am glad we decided to switch to Tom. He was super great, periodically calling us to check in, and he worked within our budget. Tom, as well as his second photographer, Brian, were awesome. Tom had a family situation arise the night before, and he had to leave after cocktail hour, but we understood. The only thing I wish I would have done is urge them to stick to my must take pics. I really wanted a picture with all of my cousins, and I would have liked a picture of every table. But, all in all, he blew me away, and I couldn’t be happier with the pictures. Every person that sees them says they are the nicest wedding pics they have ever seen. He is awesome, and I highly recommend him!

Before Wedding Pics: Great South Bay, Patchogue, NY
I am glad my mom urged me to take pictures here, and they came out great!!

Reception Hall: Tall Grass Country Club, Lessings A
We had shopped around a lot for the right price and look for our day. It was between Smithtown Landing and Tall Grass. Tall Grass is not widely known by anyone I know, and most of the people had never heard of it. It was small and intimate, and newly renovated, and it was the perfect look for our day, and was reasonably priced. We had originally met with Janet, the G Manager, and we loved her! About 8 months before the wedding they hired a new G Manager, Issaias, and he was also very nice. Before the wedding, they were very accommodating. I was a little annoyed when I called the week of the wedding, and even the day of, and they had no idea when me “event” was. Our Matre’D the day of was named John. He was barely accessable, but there was a girl that was there for us, and she made sure we were happy and had food and drinks. The top of our wedding cake was put into my dad’s truck, which was staying there over night. When we went to get it the next day, the cake was melted and I was disappointed. They were accommodating in getting us in touch with Create-a-Cake to get a new cake topper. I felt that they were somewhat unorganized, but all-in-all, our day went smoothly.

As far as I know, Tall Grass will not be booking future weddings. Sadly, they will be placing condo’s on the land.

HoneyMoon: Allegro/Occidental Playacar, Playa del Carmen, Mexico B
We used my mom’s timeshare, and it was super reasonable. It was all inclusive, but we go very tired of the food within a couple days. Standard room. We had a good time, and we relaxed and enjoyed the beautiful beach.
