well its all over but everything overall turned out great!!

this was the second gown i tried on and i fell in love with it,, im bad at making decisions but when i put this on i knew it was the one!! everything with macys went great the service there was so nice. origonally i was not planning on wearing a veil but when i was ordering the gown everyone was like how could you not ,so somehow the salesperson just wrote up any veil without asking me first.. so when it came in it was waay too much for me i wanted something really simple. the ladies at the salon were so nice and handled everything very professionally. usually they wouldnt except a return but they worked it out where i found a discontined veil that was worth $200 more and they gave it to me for an even exchange.

BRIDESMAIDS GOWNS - The Wedding Center Commack

i give the wedding center an F,, i was not pleased at all with their service the women there are very rude and not even because they are busy ,, we went in there on a weeknight when there were no customers and it was around 6 pm they didnt close until 8pm. but right from the start i felt that they didnt want to bother with us. couldnt help with any questions we had. the only reason why i agreed on buying a dress from them is because everyone lived so far away and to get everyone together another night woud have been hard. they measured all of my girls way off from their sizes. its one thing if it was a size big but two sizes is a little off... they even charged my heavier older aunt $40 extra for plus size when it turns out she wouldnt have even need a plus size because of their wrong measurements. but every one of their dresses were measured wrong!! they just want to have to charge for alterations so be careful!! then my maid of honor wanted her dress to be slightly differnt so i chose a diff style same maker same colors... well when it arrived it looked totally wrong and they accepted no responsiblility and couldnt be nice enough to suggest any solution to my problem.

the dresses all turned out to be beautiful thanks to ALFRED ANGELO i just wish it wasnt so difficult ordering them.

i did make the mistake on only interviewing with one florist because of course they are going to make themselves sound so great. i was told at first that they can do any kind of flowers any colors and told them everything i wanted. when i went for my design session it wasnt so easy all of my ideas were not up to what they wanted and i felt like all they wanted to give me was roses. i just felt like the owner was a know it all who didnt really know much. one thing that ruined my experience with them was i went in to deliver my final payment and a mapquest of where i will be the morning of so they can deliver the boquets.. first the very nice woman i spoke with said come anytime b4 7 and i came at 530 and jack said WE ARE CLOSED!!!! with an attitude.. well sorry if some people have to work to pay for their wedding flowers!
then i handed him the mapquest and he Freaked out on me because i had the wrong florist with the same name as them as the starting point.. he lectured me for about 20 mins on how its not them and how would i like it if someone confused me with another person, and kept walking out of his office with highlighted address forms for his florist.. he kept on doing it to the point where i was in tears and he didnt even apologize for being rude. i guess he that he already had my money he had nothing to lose ... well i just hope people who read this and are considering using them reconsider because he is phony for the first meeting after he gets your money he has no need to be nice anymore...

so anyway my boquets turned out beautiful i was a little dissapointed in the boutenniers bc i wanted them to be hot pink so that it would pull all of the colors together and since the tux's were all black that would add the color for the guys.. i made it clear to the florist that if the orchids didnt come in hot pink then use tulips but they didnt listen and the boutenieres were peach which i was upset about but i didnt let it get to me too much... i may seem picky but its just little details that were important to me that i would have taken care of myself if i knew there was a problem.... the saying is ... if u want something done your way you gotta do it yourself!

CEREMONY/RECEPTION-- Blue Honu, Huntington NY A+++

we were engaged for over 4 years and where thinking about where our wedding will be since day one. we wanted something very unique not catering hall style very laid back atmosphere. i always wanted to get married on the beach but i was so scared i would plan this big wedding and it would rain so my fiance was looking into restraunts that would be nice and he came across the website for Blue Honu... (i had no idea how popular the place was) so we decided to look at a few restraunts around huntington village and when we walked into Blue Honu i fell in love and i knew that it was the one! i didnt think that they would be willing to do a wedding but it worked out perfectly bc they dont open the restraunt till 5or 6 on the weekends so they do have private parties during the day.. when we met the owner Dave he seemed excited to be helping us out!
we held our ceremony upstairs and cocktail reception downstairs.... everybody loved everything about it.. no assigned seats no sit down dinner with only 3 options, great drinks!, beautiful settings for pictures, i can not wait until i get my negatives from my pics so that i can show everyone how beautiful it was. Dave and all of the staff there helped us out so much, they treated us like we were celebrities,, i dont even know how to thank them enough. we plan on going there every anniversary that we can!! and hopefully a few times in between...

well im back and i got my pictures yesterday!
first i want to finish writing my review.

I was a little nervous about booking with Bella Pictures at first. We met with a salesperson at a local starbucks where i fell in love with the albums she had to show and they were very reasonably priced so i just went with them. then as time went by i started worrying because i never heard anything about them on LIweddings and she also informed me that i wont be meeting my photographer just speaking to him on the phone a week before the wedding. i was worried bc ive heard of people booking their photographer and him not showing up or never recieving prints... but anyway everything turned out great with them... Bill Wang was the most energetic, friendliest photographer anyone at my wedding has ever seen.. he was dancing with us climbing trees in the restraunt to get the perfect shot,, laying on the ground...he uses all artistic views and lenses,, my pictures came out amazing.!!! my only one complaint would be that out of 2000 proofs that i got back there arent enough of me and my husband posing together to choose for a thank you photo... but that is my fault,, we chose not to meet before the wedding to take pics so there really wasnt much time... and only other problem was there are tooo many pics of objects at the restraunt. such the guy cutting meat or pictures of a light... but i understand he wanted to capture all of the things he can about our day. i would def. recomend them to anyone! the best part is you can buy your digital negatives on a cd and order prints from anywhere,, and not have to pay around $10 a print from the studio but pay 12 cents on shutterfly or snapfish!

CEREMONY OFFICIANT

Debra was the first officiant we met with and right away we knew she was perfect.. she has such a nice, pleasant voice and a great personality.. she really took the time to get to know us and used all of the information she can find about us to incorporate it into our ceremony. she made it so personal. all of my guests commented on how great she was. she also gave us many unique readings to choose from.
she even gave us a copy of the whole ceremony that she wrote for us! i would def.

INVITATIONS

we decided that we wanted to make our own invitiations after searching for something we liked we figured the only way to get it the way we wanted was to make it ourselves .. we ordered the precut cardstock from a comp. called soutwest announcements online.. my husband did all of the work printing and he designed an orchid in hot pink to match our theme.. me and one of my bridesmaids assembled them in less than two hours,, i thought it would take forever but it wasnt so bad..

another DIY project.. we made CD favors my husband designed a label to match our invitations.. we used all songs that were special to us or that we played at the wedding but we used mostly acoustic versions so they were diff. than what u normally would here and it gave the cd a more romantic feel.
we used vellum envelopes that i ordered online and my brother in law helped me tie ribbons on them with little tags that say thank you for sharing our special day!

I met my FH at Blue Honu!! I never even thought of getting married there. What a great/unique idea. Gorgeous pictures. I love everything. you looked stunning.
