My 8/18 wedding Land's End, Tommy's Tunes, ADA Photo and Video, James Cress, All-Star****update***** got my proofs

Hi Ladies,

Here is my review of my wedding on August 18th. It was the most wonderful day of my life. I had a fabulous time but like everyone else says….it went way to fast. The day completely exceeded our expectations and I could not have asked for a more magnificent wedding then what it was…..so on to the review!


Mother Nature: 10
It was beautiful. In fact the week leading up to the wedding was gorgeous. The sun was shinning, there was a breeze, and nice white fluffy clouds in the sky.

Invitations: Jean M 10
It took me forever to pick out invitations because they had to be just right. I was a little worried about buying them off the internet but when they arrived I was thrilled. They were perfect. It was easy to order them and when I had questions all I did was call and someone was there to help.

Hair: Carmella/ Happily Ever After: 10
Carmella was wonderful. I went to two hair trials with her but wasn’t really thrilled. The day of the wedding however she was great. She did my most of my bridesmaids’ hair first and it turned out wonderful. When she did mine I asked for a combination of two of the girls and Carmella did it perfectly. I loved my hair and believe me when I tell you that I usually hate whenever my hair is done.

Make-up: Jackie/Imakeupu.com: 10
My make-up was amazing and so were all of my bridesmaids! Jackie is AMAZING. We all opted to do the airbrush which was very expensive but it was worth it. My face stayed perfect the entire day and night. It looked great and felt like I wasn’t even wearing anything. Only the lipstick needed touching up throughout the night.

My Dress: Paradise Bridal, Patchogue, NY: 10
I got my Eve of Milady dress here and Donna was my bridal consultant. She was the sweetest woman and helped me fine the perfect dress. I LOVE MY DRESS!!!! I never wanted to take it off. It took about seven months for it to come in. I ordered it in December and it came in June. I was a little worried when I still hadn’t heard from them by the middle of June but they promised it would eventually be there. When it did come I only needed to go from alterations one time. The second time it was perfect. All of the women were very sweet and helpful. I also got my veil and tiara from them.

Bridesmaids/MOH dresses: Paradise Bridal, Patchogue, NY: 5
I guess if you don’t have problems with your dress then there are going to be problems with the girls’ dresses. Every single dress for all 6 of my girls was way too big. I’m talking to the point where the seamstress said they couldn’t be taken in anymore. Some of my bridesmaids had to go back for 3rd and 4th fittings. Finally we using double-sided tape to make sure their STRAPLESS dresses didn’t fall down during the night. Paradise bridal took no responsibility for the miss-sized dresses; they accused ALL of my girls of losing weigh….one girl maybe but not all 6!!!!

Grooms/Groomsmen Tuxes: Roger’s Tuxedo Centereach, NY 10
They were great. The men looked great and Tony got his for free!

James Cress Florist Smithtown, NY 8
They were great. They listen to what I wanted and made it happen. My bouquet was beautiful and so were the bridesmaids. They made changes when I called a few days before my wedding. They were missing a few corsages and quickly went back and got them. They set up the Gazebo at Land’s End and put flowers in the centerpieces. Everything was great but they were definitely expensive. The reason I have them an 8 is because the flowers on the Gazebo didn’t match our colors. Everything was red and white and they put these purple flowers on the Gazebo that really didn’t match anything.

All-Star Limo Farmingdale, NY 3
This was the complaint that I had for the entire day. They were terrible. We had a regular 10 passenger Limo and a Hummer. Both drivers were extremely RUDE and my driver actually stopped in the middle of the road and demanded that I pay up. Mind you that I had a huge puffy dress and getting me into the limo was a pain but he actually wanted to go back to my parents house(they were bringing my envelopes and leaving five minutes after us) and for me to get out to get the money to him. They also kicked my husband and the groomsmen out of the limo as soon as they got to Land's End. They said I only paid for pick up and drop off....$800 dollars later.....so our best man actually whipped out his credit card and paid the drive to stay an extra 1/2 hour so we could get a picture in from of the limo. The only reason I didn’t give them a zero was because they arrived on time.

Tommy’s Tunes Selden, NY 10++++++
They were amazing. I can’t begin to tell you have absolutely wonderful our DJ and MC were. They had people on the floor from the first dance to the last. The music they played was everything we wanted and more. They were great with the guests and we had such an amazing time because of them. At the end of the night it didn’t even matter to us that they were stuck in traffic and weren’t able to do the music for the ceremony. (Luckily Land’s End is prepared for such issues) We actually plan to call Tommy’s Tunes and have them refund the ceremony portion of the bill and give it to the DJ and MC because that is how wonderful they were.

ADA Studio Selden, NY 7

Anthony Jinete and his assistant Anthony were great. They arrived on time and ready to go. Anthony keeps the entire bridal party and all the families smiling through picture after picture even though it was hot out. He made me laugh most of the night and did every picture I asked for. He listed to what I wanted and didn’t rush us at all. Everyone loved him and I am sure my pictures will be fabulous. I was worried using them because I had heard some bad things about ADA after I had already booked them but after my experience I would recommend them to anyone; especially Anthony Jinete.

*****Up-date*****

I received my proofs about 3 weeks after my wedding. We were both slightly disappointed in them. We only received about 500 proofs and most of them were posed. We wanted a more photojournalist pics. Also there were lots of pics of them same people dancing over and over again. People that we really didn't care about and don't plan on having in our album. Overall the pictures were beautiful and we wont have a problem finding 100 to put in our album but we expected more from them.

ADA Studio Video 10+++

I just got my wedding vidoe (11 days not bad!!!) and it was amazing. Ted was our videographer and he did a great job. He got all the important moments .....plus all the girls rocking out to Liv'in on a Prayer!!!! I am going to watch it over and over again because I love it :)

Land’s End Sayville, NY
There are no words to describe the wonderful staff at Land’s End. There is no rating for them because I believe they are immeasurable. They made every dream I ever had growing up come true for my wedding. From the moment we stepped into their hall way back in December I knew that my wedding was going to be there. Jennifer Barnett is an amazing person. She was able to answer every question I have had for the past 8 months. She was patient and did not mind when I made table changes the day before the wedding. She was there every step of the way and I cannot thank her enough.
Debbie my bridal attending was AMAZING. I wish I could have taken her home with me. From the moment I stepped out of the limo she was by my side with a glass of water or to hold my bouquet. We took pictures on the beach and afterwards she made me sit down so she could wash my feet and shoes. She was there for my every need and want. I cannot even put into words as to how absolutely wonderful she was.
Marietta our Maitre’D was also great. My wedding went smoothly because she was in control and made sure everything was taken care of (including my ceremony music). My champagne glass was always filled; she made sure we ate, and at the end of the night packed all our stuff up including extra dinners, appetizers, champagne and our cake.
Everything at Land’s End was so detail oriented that I can’t even list all the things that were so wonderful. After the ceremony waiters and waitresses were lined up with trays of Cosmos, appletini’s and other drinks to hand to the guests as they entered the cocktail hour. They set up my centerpieces exactly how I wanted them, my tables were beautiful, and the bridal suite was perfect, they took care of every single detail for us so we didn’t have to think the entire night about anything except having a good time.
The food was spectacular. People are still coming up to us and telling us how amazing their dinner was. The halibut and filet mingon were out of this world. I am told that the cocktail hour food was great too but we used that time to say hello so we could enjoy the reception. Even the champagne was the best champagne I have ever tasted. The bartenders kept our guests happy and nobody ever had to wait for a drink. People even raved about the cake and how moist it was (Thank you Audrey’s Bakery) It was chocolate cake with vanilla pudding filling and butter cream icing. I could go on for pages about how wonderful everything was……
Thank you Land’s End for making our day more perfect then we could have ever dreamed. Words are not enough to show how grateful we are for everything you did to make the most important day of our lives so perfect.


So that is my review. I hope it is helpful and all I can say is enjoy every moment. Our wedding was a blast and we had a great time because we made sure to make it about us and not everyone else. We said our hellos at the cocktail hour and then the rest of the night was ours. Too many people say their wedding is a blur and they don’t enjoy it. That was not the case with us because we were surrounded by great friends, family, music and FOOD!!!!!!

Nikki--- Thanks for a great review! I was looking forward to a full review of Lands End! That is awesome it makes me even more excited for the next 8 weeks to go by before my wedding there!

I understand what you are saying about James Cress. I will talk to them again to make sure everything is how we want it. My FH knows them for a long time and works for them when he can so I think we may get somewhat special treatment.

I am a little bummed about All Star. I think I will call and talk to them. Do you have any suggestions on how I can avoid the rude drivers and the quick drop off?

Great review & congrats. That is very surprising to hear about All Star. DH & I used 3 of their cars & their were so wonderful to us. Call Debbie & complain. I would what an explanation for those particular driver's behaviors. Despite that, you are married now...enjoy it!
