My 9/25/05 Westbury Manor Review ..added some new pics..2nd link at bottom

LI WEDDINGS- As you can see I was never a big poster, but became very addicted to this site a little while after I had gotten engaged and was reading it everyday. So I’d like to thank everyone on this site for all of their great ideas and advice that really helped with my wedding day and really helped in some of my most important decisions. I wanted to at least do a review. Please feel free to FM with any questions about my vendors or anything else that can be of help

TUXES-FELDMAN ESQUIRE-LYNBROOK- A+
As far as I noticed everything with tuxes went well. I went with my husband to the store to pick out what he and the GM’s would be wearing. We wanted pretty basic stuff, white vest for him and black for the fathers and GM. A few GM called in their measurements and their tuxes were fine. They all looked great and the help at the store were all nice and patient

BURTONS-MY GOWN A+ & BRIDESMAID DRESSES- B+
Burtons had given me the best price on my dress after trying it on at Macys and a few others stores, the quoted me about $300-$500 less than any other store, so it was a no brainier to order my dress there. My dress came in at the time expected and Carol and Karen were always patient and helpful with me for all my questions. My alterations came out great and I didn’t even need that many b/c my dress fit pretty well (I was hoping it would be big, but oh well)
Mostlof the BM dresses were fine except for a few problems, they all came in fine and on time and I even had ordered extra material so we can add sashes to back from the neck, they worked with me on that and made sure they knew what I meant and it came out exactly how I wanted. The alterations were a problem for 2 of my BM as both of their hems were too long. one of them realized and had it fixed right there, so that was fine…but other BM, realized at home and had begged them to come in one of the few days before the wedding to fix it, they said they were booked and would not let her come in at anytime to fix it, I felt as if they should have fit her in at some point over the next few days, it was completely longer on one side and there were strings hanging from the dress too, you can tell it was a messy job. Otherwise everything else was great.

BARRON’S- VEIL AND TIARA- A+
I originally did even want to wear a tiara, but I was convinced in to it and after I went to barrons I was happy to find exactly what I was looking for, I wanted a headband that wasn’t too much, and was perfect and really fit my dress, I also then went back and bought my veil which was great.

SHOES- SANDY’S SHOES MASSAPEQUA A++
I got my shoes here, they had the best selection and the sales women were very helpful. I even found my day of necklace here and when I went back to get it was gone, they ordered me a new one and it was there within the week. Two of BM’s also got their shoes here and the color came out great with their dresses.

COUNTERPOINT STRING TRIO-A+
I booked with Christina from recommendations from this site. I didn't speak with her too much, only really 2x, to send her a deposit and to discuss the music a few days before the wedding which was fine. Our ceremony was only 1 hour b/c it was at the hall. They played music while guests were walking in and then the usual parts of ceremony, I can remember hearing it but I don’t remember anything else, ( I was just in another world at that point, u know) I know it was what I wanted so I would recommend her. She gave me the best price for 1 hr and I called a few more places before booking her.

SKYLINE BAND A+++
Skyline had to be one of favorite vendors. They were amazing. Guests were coming up to me all night telling me it was the best wedding band they ever heard!!! I had a Sunday afternoon wedding and the dance floor was packed all day. They really got involved with the guests and really seemed to be enjoying themselves as if they were not even at work and just having fun. My dad and danced to Lullaby by Billy Joel and the keyboard player sounded so much like him that my dad thought they were playing it on cd till he looked and saw it was the band. The band leader kept in touch with me a lot the week or 2 before the wedding and really had listened to all my requests. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a band.

************* FLORIST B+
I had booked *** after my friend had used them and everything with her flowers looked great. I have to say I was a little nervous after seeing a lot of mixed reviews about them on this site after I had booked them. Everything in terms of planning went great, I had met with Jack and got a good price from him. I didn’t want anything that complicated for my centerpieces (roses, stock, another flower and some fillers), they did look great, a few of them had some flowers in them that could have seen better days, but for the most part they looked good. My bouquet and the BM’s bouquets were great. The GM’s and fathers boutonnieres were also fine, unfortunately, my husbands was the only one that was dead after a few hrs, he had a white rose with 2 stephanotis, the rose looked almost brown and the stephanotis were dead also by the time the reception started. That was really the only thing I was upset about.

PROLINE STUDIOS A+
I booked proline for photo and video. The day of the staff were very friendly and did a really good job of pretending that they were not there. They photographer got some great candid shots that we didn’t even realize were being taken. We also booked a photojournalist, who was great, he got some amazing shots, I think we got about 850-900 proofs and 500 were from him. I think his name was Damien, I would def recommend him!!! The only thing I was upset about was some formal shots that the photographer missed. I had asked for more shots of the whole BP together and b/c he had only taken one and when I asked for more, he set up one more shot that was far away and was confusing for everyone and just didn’t work out well. A few other family combinations were missing but for the most part the pics that are there look great!!! We got the unedited version of the video, it seems great, I mean I really wasn’t looking for anything specific with the video except to get the important parts and they seem to all be there.

Here is a link to some pics, (at the bottom) I scanned these proofs at work, unfortunately the scanner does NOT work too good and the pics are a lot darker and not clear on here, and I was having some trouble with it but you can get the idea, when I get the access to them online or the pics on CD, I will post them again so u can see them better

JILLIAN, GORGEOUS FACES A++
Jillian was great, I booked her right after my trial; she came over very early right on time and was very chipper and friendly. She did my makeup as I wanted, very natural and it stayed on all day. She also did my moms and all my BM’s and everyone looked great!!!!! She was a pleasure to have around.
HAIR
I used my regular stylist for my hair, she came with a friend to help and everyone was happy and all of our hair stood up all night. Everyone was at my house at 6am, which was rough but we managed.

WESTBURY MANOR-A++++++
From the day I walked into Westbury Manor, I had received the most amazing service from any place I had even been in my life. Whether I was there to drop off $$, have dinner or any other reasons before the wedding, I had never had people be so nice to me, they always left me feeling so happy when I had left. The day of they were great again, My Matre’d and bridal attendant had greeted me the second I got there and were by my side all day. My matre’d always came to me with any decisions that needed to be made that day and my bridal attendant was there all day whenever I needed anything. I heard the food was great, I didn’t get to eat much (although I do plan on crashing someones cocktail hour in the future?) people raved about the vienietta dessert, so when choosing, go with that one. I was so busy all day I never even got to see the bridal suite. Everything was organized, clean and looked great!!!!!!!! If you are getting married there you have nothing to worry about.

I guess maybe from all the controversy, when I posted my review the florists name was automatically blocked out, but it is its obvious who they are,

any way I forgot about HAWAII!!!!!!!!!
It was amazin, anyone considering going, GO!!! We stayed at the westin in maui and and Hyatt in Kauai which is the nicest hotel I had ever seen. I loved it so much I want to plan another trip asap, but ill prob have to wait a few years.
