My Amazing 9/15/06 Flowerfield Wedding! UPDATED

My Amazing 9/15/06 Flowerfield Wedding! UPDATED

First, I'd like to thank all the LIW girls, I don't know you but you have helped me so much in the wedding planning process and I've gotten so many incredible ideas from this site!! Now onto the review in no particular order.........

Envelope Hand Calligraphy - Wendy Trout A+
Wendy was great, she did an amazing job and worked with my crunched timing. Affordable too!

Invitations - Prestige Bridal/Nu Art C
I had so many issues with this vendor. The proof kept coming back incorrect, they took forever, shorted me by 20 invitations, and did not send lined envelopes, which I paid for!! It was very frustrating but I was happy with the end product, which is the only reason they didn't get a lower grade.

Paper for Menus, Table Numbers, Programs (All DIY)- Paperandmore.com A+
Paper was gorgeous and elegant, I bought two different colors, received many compliments!

Hotel for Guests - Islandia Marriott A+
I worked with Tarsha and Diana. They were very accomodating, the price was right and we also arranged for an after-party room which held 50 people. It was great!

Shuttle bus for Guests - Alert Bus Company B+
I would have given them a higher grade but my guests were waiting for at least 30 minutes at the end of the night since the driver was late on the first run. My advice - make sure you have the DJ announce that the bus is there so the bus doesn't wait around for it to fill up! Otherwise the bus was clean and the driver was very nice.

Groom Cake/Wedding Cake - Audrey's A+
I LOVED the groom cake, I sent Thomas the baker a pic of a BMW M3 and the cake looked just like it! DH was so surprised and the cake was delicious! I highly recommend them.In addition, our wedding cake was great. I gave Thomas a design I liked and again, he made it look amazing. I was very happy with them.

Bridesmaid dresses/shoes - Gownfind/Bridal Elegance B
I went with Phyllis b/c she was the most affordable and convenient. Unfortunately, her hems on the girls dresses looked like crap, she lost and then found one of the girl's shoes, and she dyed on of the bm's shoes pink, instead of brown. Luckily the dresses were long so not such a big deal in the end.

RD - Casa Rustica A+
We worked with Benny. The food was great and he was very accomodating.

Photographer/Videographer - Fine Art Photo and Video A+
I received the proofs and unedited video and we love everything!!! We watched the video and relived the day, they did a great job. We have over 1500 proofs or something ridiculous to go through and they look great so far! I am happy with the decison. We had Frank and Jimmy and 2 assistants. I don't remember the videographer's name but he captured almost all the event.

RD Invitations - Paper Presentation NYC A+
Got the cutest invites there that went with my pink and brown theme, loved them!

BM gifts - Macy's A
We bought the girls very pretty necklaces and earrings. The necklaces kept tangling from all the dancing but hopefully they're not always like that.

GM gifts - Danny's Jewelry Commack A
We bought the guys embrodiered cufflinks and they came out very nice. They weren't exactly what we wanted but we also waited until the last minute.

Flowers - Lovin Oven Florals A+
Keyth was great and the flowers were all gorgeous. My only complaint is that I wanted more pink in my bouquet and there wasn't that much. Otherwise everything was great.

After looking at my proofs and video, I changed this score because everything really looked so beautiful!!

Seating Frame - Lovin Oven Florals D
Everything looked great except the year read 2005 instead of 2006. Not sure how they let that one slip! I was annoyed but I didn't let it ruin my night.

My dress/veil/headpiece - Wedding Salon of Manhasset A
I loved my Reem Acra dress! Sue did my alterations and she was so great, I was very happy with her. My only complaint is that everything was so expensive there but I guess you have to know that before going. I loved my dramatic looking veil, it matched the applique on my dress perfectly! I liked my tiara very much also.

Shoes - Casa di Mario A+
I loved my shoes, they were very comfortable and I wore them most of the night.

Hair - Madison Salon - Randy A+
After 3 hair trials, I finally found the style I liked. And Randy was so patient, I highly recommend her.

Makeup - Madison Salon - Anne DeMarco A+
I was so impressed with Anne. She did such an amazing job with the airbrush makeup and I was so happy with the end result. She is a wonderful makeup artist and I'd use her again in a heartbeat.

Reception - Flowerfield A+
What can I say, that place is magical. I knew as soon as I set foot in the atrium that I had to get married there. Joette and Andy were so attentive, the food was delicious, and the setting was perfect for pics, especially since it poured the whole day. I love it there, the service is unbelievable! My parents suprised us with the raw bar and that just topped it off for us! FF brides and guests, this place is top notch, you will love it!!

Dance Lessons - Tracy Everitt A
We surprised everyone with our first dance - Argentine tango. It was such a hit! Tracy was flexible and worked with our schedules since we lived in different states. I can't wait to watch the video!

Entertainment - We Like to Party Entertainment A+
Entertainment was so important to me and these guys just rocked the house. I was so happy I chose them. They played the right balance of Italian, Spanish, hiphop and house. Their personalities made the night so fun everyone was on their feet the whole time. I cannot recommend them enough, they were incredible. I also added a percussionist at the last minute and am so happy I did!!!

Tuxes - Dante Zellar Tuxedos A
After reading so many horror stories on this site I was so worried about the tux situation. We went with DT after winning some contest at Fortunoff. Everyone's tuxes fit, we just had a minor issue with the sleeve length. i loved how they looked against the bm dresses too. Everyone looked fantastic! They were a little slow with taking measurements but overall we were happy.

absolutely stunning!!! Beautiful gown and I loved the dramatic veil & tiara!!! BM's dresses where gorgeous and I loved the color!!

oh do you guys live in new jersey? i was gonna use tracy everitt for swing and the waltz but ended up using kerensa in nyc instead.

isn't it just a blast dancing? did it shocked the hell out of everyone? our combo waltz and swing numbers did. :D

DH lived in Jersey so that's why we used Tracy...interesting bird. The dance did shock everyone, it was so much fun. I loved it! We may continue to take lessons once everything settles down.

I love the dance lessons. I got my FI to take dance lessons in our living room.He bought an instuctional DVD I'm shocked I got him to dance. it's a lot of fun. Swing and fox trot. 2x a week. One night a week we go out dancing. I lost 3 pounds without even trying. I want a 15 minute swing set at the wedding. Your wedding looked beautiful. Congrats...
