My July 29th Wedding Review- updated 9/25 prof pics

First, I have to say a big thank you to Ron and Liz, and everyone on LIW. Without the advice and reviews from everyone, my wedding would not have been what it was...

Mother Nature---fabulous.....the day was absolutely beautiful....thank god that it was not humid.....

The morning started off with my mom getting her hair done, and my mother in law getting her makeup done. It was such a weird feeling because I actually had nothing to do. It was the first time in months that I just sat down, and truly didnt have to think about anything. It was a weird feeling, but nice all in the same.

Jacqueline Nicole (Makeup) 10+
Jacqueline was amazing. Not only is she a sweetheart, but her final product is more that anyone could imagine. She was soo wonderful. She did my makeup, one of my maid of honors, one of my bms, my mom and my mother in laws. Everyone feel in love with their makeup. It was amazing. She is such a professional. I am soo happy that she was there with us on my wedding day.

Janine from Shear Instincts (Hair) 10+
Janine was one of my maid of honors. She did a fabulous job on my hair, as well as my moms. Then to boot, she also did her own hair, which looked amazing. I have to say girls (and I am not just plugging her because shes my best friend), she does amazing up-dos.

Colonial Florist in North Bellmore 9
My flowers were gorgeous. Claudio was a pleasure to work with, he always offered assistance. At times, he did not want to hear what I was saying, but in the end everything was beautiful. I booked him 5 weeks before the wedding, because of problems with my other florist (and also because of reviews that she was getting from other brides). Claudio told us that he accepts credit cards (we wanted to get points on the American Express) We called several times wanting to pay, and he said dont worry, we will call you. (They are very trustworthy, which is nice) When they called, they said that they would not take a credit card that close to the wedding. So that was an issue, just because he had told us he would. In the end, after I spoke with Claudio, they did end up taking the card. Also, my moms flowers did not hold up too well. It was very surprising because all of the other flowers, the bouquets, the bouts, and the centerpieces were amazing and lasted for days.

Sir Oliver Limos- 10+
They were amazing to work with right from the beginning. The limo drivers are so professional and are true gentlemen. We also used them to take us to the airport. Our driver was Jack. He is the nicest man you would ever want to meet. This company is truly a class act.

Twelfth Night Photo- 10
(this is for their service before, and the day of the wedding) I will update with another score once I get my proofs.

I had Dominick for 5 hours and Geraldine for 10 hours. They were amazing. They were so nice and unobtrusive. Dom was so funny. We had all of our pictures done before cocktail hour. We were not pulled out of our wedding once. It was such a nice feeling. They are truly wonderful. Again, this is a company that truly goes above and beyond.

Mittermax- Videography 10
(again, this is for services)

Travis is one of the nicest people you would ever meet. He is such a sweetheart, and does wonderful work. Dominick and him work so well together. There were times that we didnt know he was even there (he was though). He was not one of those videographers who take over the whole wedding. He was truly wonderful. He is a complete pleasure to do deal with. Being that we dont live near him, he told us to pay him the day of the wedding. How trustworthy is that!!!! Travis also stayed a little later because he was told that my grandpa was going to sing, and he wanted to make sure he got that on video!!!!!

High Voltage Sounds-Vinny 10+
Vinny was amazing. Our dance floor was full the entire night. It was awesome. There were a few songs that he didnt play, but when we look back on it, we didnt even miss them. We had told him that our main concern was to have people dancing all night, and he truly lived up to that. Vinny is an amazing dj, and an amazing person.

Larkfield Manor- 10
I was very nervous when I found out Larkfield had two new owners and were doing renovations. When I first met one of the owners, I was so upset. He was sooo nasty. But then I met the other one, who completely made up for it. He was sooo nice. The day of our wedding, everything was done that was supposed to be done. There was a new candelier, the mens bathroom was renovated, and we had new silverware and china. There was also a new dance floor. Everything was amazing. They truly went above and beyond to make our day unforgettable.

People are still raving about the food. And the viennesse hour was.....breathtaking. They gave us a chocolate fountain as an extra. It was beautiful. Lisa was amazing to work with. Larkfield truly outdid themselves, and my wedding was more than I ever dreamed because of them.

OUR HONEYMOON

Sandals St Lucia--the Grande 10+
(7 nights)

This resort was truly amazing. It was breathtaking and the people were sooo friendly. The grounds were beautiful, and so were the rooms. The food was very good, and the entertainment was good as well. The playmakers are the best. If anyone is going there, say hello to Dumplyn and Thyan for me. They were fabulous. We LOVED St Lucia!!!!

Sandals Antigua- 5

I was so upset when we saw this resort. When we first arrived on the island, I was imagining that the resort was going to be amazing. The island is so much wealthier than St Lucia. The houses and the cars that people drove were really nice. The bank was amazing. So I thought that the resort had to be the same, but boy was I wrong.

The resort was so old and run down. The grounds and the pool were soo old. The pavement around the pool was all uneven. We ate breakfast with the seagulls, and dinner with the cats. There were stray cats walking around all of the restaurants. There were also so many bugs. If you are going there, make sure to bring bug spray from home, because the one that they sell at the resort doesnt work.

Another thing was that I did not feel safe at this resort at all. The locks on the doors are the type of locks that you have on your bedroom doors inside your house. And there is security all over the beach because people try to sell you drugs. So I did not feel safe. I had my husband booby trap the doors so that I could fall asleep.

The people at the resort were sooo nasty. If at all, I saw two workers that smiled. It seemed like they all hated their jobs, and hated us visitors. We met two other couples while we were there who complained about the resort as well. One of them had a leak, called the front desk, and when the guy came up, he asked them what they thought the problem might be (they are not plumbers). He then said that he could not resolve the problem, and if it happened again, to call the front desk. The other couple had ants all over their bathroom. Our TV also did not work very well, and they said that there was nothing they could do about it.

The reason that the resort got a five was because the food was really good, and because the water and the sand were beautiful (I know that the resort shouldnt even be able to take credit for this but..) The sand was white, and the water was crystal clear.

Our wedding was amazing and was the best day of our lives. We also had a wonderful honeymoon, even though we had some problems in Antigua. We are sooo happy to be married, and love to relive our wedding day over and over again. We had soo much fun, and it was all thanks to our wonderful vendors, you amazing people on LIW, and our guests!!!

I will post pics as soon as I can!

ETA- We also had an article published in Newsday. I am not sure if anyone saw it. It was in the main section on Sunday, July 31st!!
