Let me start out by thanking everyone on LIW as I got so many ideas and a lot of help from every one on here. This was the most helpful and insightful website and was definitely a brilliant tool throughout planning the wedding. If anyone needs any of the vendor contact information please feel free to FM me. With that said I had the most wonderful wedding and would love to do it all over again (even the parts where I cried). It was everything I expected it to be and I would not change anything. Hope you enjoy

Weather (A+++++++)

The day started out really REALLY hot and I was afraid that I would be sweating my way through the church and reception, but later in the afternoon it started to get a little cloudy (perfect for pictures) and cooled down to a comfortable temperature, it turned out to be a beautiful day.

Invitations and Favors:
La Favorita (A+)

We spent a lot of time looking at different invitations and had a hard time choosing one until a friend told us to go and see Melina at La Favorita. Melina immediately asked us what type of invitation we were looking for and quickly found a book that held the invitation we ultimately wanted. She helped us through the whole process, telling us what we should not waste our money on and coaching us on proper etiquette (stuffing etc…). She was a valuable resource who helped us greatly throughout out the process. We loved our invitations and our guests were impressed with the invites.



We also had a hard time picking favors; Melina was very patient with us. Our first choice was out of stock and would not be in until the week of our wedding. We did not want to take the chance of it not coming in on time so we chose a second option. The espresso cups were a big hit. Melina also wrapped the favors for us. Overall we had a very pleasant experience at La Favorita and would highly recommend them to others.



We also purchased out unity candle through Melina (we saw this candle on line and Melina was the only person we found who could order it).



Bridal Gown and BM dresses:
Macy’s (Demetrios) (B+)

When I first went to Macy’s I was working with a girl named Vivien, she was great very helpful. The first dress I tried on was the dress I ultimately bought. I went back and put a deposit on the dress no problem. My alterations were no problem and they had the dress ready when promised. My problem with the staff there is that when I had questions and wanted to make changes some of the staff had no clue what to do to help me. I got frustrated a few times but found a manager named Charmaine (only there on Saturday nights and Sundays) who was wonderful, very informative and quickly answered all questions. She was a breath of fresh air after speaking to people who had no clue. As well as my gown I also purchased my veil.



My other problem came with the alterations on my sisters BM dress. Whatever you do, DO NOT get your alterations done at Macy’s the cost is RIDICULOUS. They have no cap and the cost for my sister’s alterations was way too high but we had no choice to pay because we had already started alterations so we had to bite the bullet.



MOG Dress
Beautiful Bride in Lynbrook (A+)

They help my MIL tremendously finding an outfit that made her look wonderful on the day. The sales people were very helpful



I also got my tiara there, I loved it.



And the FG Dress



DOJ
Whiteaisle.com (B)

Someone on LIW had put up a picture of this jewelry and I thought it was perfect. I ordered the jewelry which they told me would take a couple weeks to be shipped. A coule weeks passed and I did not receive my jewelry nor did I hear anything from white aisle. I called up the company only to be told that they were out of stock on the jewelry and were waiting for a shipment. I asked them if I had not called them would anyone have told me that I have to wait longer for my jewelry? I got no answer. Luckily for me I would received my jwelry in time for the wedding. I did not like the fact that they did not tell their customers that there was a dely in the shipment. I loved the jewelry it was gorgeus, if it was not for the delay they would have gotten a perfect score.



Tuxes:
Foresto’s (C)

When we went to pick out the tuxes they were great very helpful. We had people coming from overseas and we had a problem getting the correct sizes for the tuxes and they were very understandable telling us that as soon as they reach the US to have them come to the store to be sized (this happened on the day before the wedding). Well when they went to pick up their suits there was some guy there who we had not worked with and he was extremely rude to everyone including the Junior groomsman (he threw a pair of socks at the child), DH became very annoyed with this man but had to work with him because they needed their suits.



Photography:
12th Night Photography (A+++++++++)

What can I say, I had Dom and Anthony and they were fantastic. They were punctual and as soon as Dom came into my home he was instantly cracking jokes, he kept us rolling throughout the day, needless to say we appreciated his humor, it made the whole process much easier. They were great to work with and our pictures are FANTASTIC. I was worried how our pictures would come out as I do not photograph very well but I am very impressed and pleased with the outcome. They did a wonderful job and they were great to work with. We ended up getting a total of 1600 proofs, which was awesome. I would most definitely recommend them. Next on our agenda is to order our wedding album through them.



Videographer:
JPI Video Productions (A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++)

I was searching for a videographer and came across Joe’s work online, needless to say I was extremely impressed with what I saw and was again impressed when I met Joe. He totally loves his job and this was the kind of person I wanted to do my video. On the day of the wedding he was punctual and very easy to work with. Throughout the day you hardly even knew he was there he was totally no invasive. We have yet to see the video but he produced a wedding trailer of the video to come. The trailer is only three minutes long but makes me cry every time I see it. The trailer is awesome and I can’t wait to see the final product. If the trailer is anything to go by my video will be Oscar worthy.

Limousines:
Showtime Limousines (A+)

We worked with Tina who was fantastic. There were times through the process that we worried about getting everything we asked for but everything worked out great. All the drivers were well presented and courteous.

For our car we did not want the standard white Princess Rolls Royce we wanted something different. We told Tina what type of car we were looking for and Tina was able to find a Silver Cloud Rolls Royce through another company. We booked our car through A Class Act and our driver was John. He was fantastic, kept asking us if we needed anything, assisted me with my dress and made sure that we got to all our locations on time. The care was impeccably kept (no worries about breaking down).



Florist:
Flower Michelle (A+++++++++++++++)

We had gone to other florist previously and because we did not have an exact idea of what we were looking for we got very limited help. As soon as we walked into Flower Michelle we met with a guy name Mike (no longer there) who when we said we don’t know exactly what we want he said no problem and proceeded to give us some wonderful ideas. By the time we left we knew exactly what we wanted and were very pleased with the way that they worked. When we went back we worked with John who is wonderful (another person who loves his job). He was very excited about the flowers we had chosen and told us that everything would look beautiful. When we went to look at our sample centerpiece we were floored. John does beautiful work. After seeing the centerpiece we knew that we had nothing to worry about.



On the day of the wedding we first got to see my bouquet and the BM’s bouquets I think we all Ohhh’d and Ahhhhh’d he did such a wonderful job. When we got to the reception the centerpieces were stunning, even more beautiful than the sample. He made our Reception Hall look beautiful. John is truly an artist and worth every single penny.



Make Up:
Metamorphosis (Jamie Mamone) (A+++++++++++++++++)

I was sitting in Starbucks meeting the videographer when a gentlemen sitting at the next table informed me that his wife is a make up artist and he would love to have his wife contact me so that we could set up a trial if I was interested. At the time I had not even started looking for a make up artist so I was like fine. He gave me hthe name of the company and took down my information. Jamie contacted me and she was such a warm and wonderful person. I think during the whole process I changed my look like 5 times and Jamie had no problem at all. We had finally decided on a look for the day and on the day of the wedding I changed my mind again, Jamie immediately adapted and gave me a fantastic look. Everyone’s make up looked great and Jamie got along with everyone in my bridal party. She was always laughing and smiling and was very accommodating, she definitely put me at ease and made me feel beautiful for my big day.



Reception:
Leonard’s Of Great Neck (A+++++++++++++++)

I had previously read that some people were not happy with Leonard’s that the Maitre’D kept disappearing and that the bridal attendant was none existence. My experience was completely different. The Maitre’D and Bridal Attendant (unfortunately I do not remember their names) were very attentive. Anything and everything we needed they got for us. They kept the food, and drink coming. I have no complaints. The food was ASTOUNDING, the food was one of the reasons why we chose this hall as we had heard it was good, it was better than good. Everyone said that the enjoyed the food a lot. The Viennese Hour was HUGE. I did not know that there would have been so many different deserts it was awesome. I think everyone eyes grew to the size of saucers when they brought the Viennese out. All the staff were courteous and attentive. They even helped gather all our stuff at the end of the night and waited with us until our limo arrived. We had a wonderful experience there and also got a great price.



DJ:
FM Entertainment: (A++++++++++++++++++++)


Frank was great; we had a large range in age groups and every single person found themselves on the dance floor. Frank kept the momentum up and kept everyone dancing all night. When the dance floor started to empty they would change the music until the floor would fill up again. I think everyone got their groove on that night including the grandparents. He played all the songs that we requested and judged the crowd very well.



Old Westbury Gardens (A+++++++++++++)

We worked with Diana who was excellent, she was super helpful and helped us get some great shots. The gardens are beautiful.
