My May 21st Wedding

First off I wanted to thank all of you wonderful ladies for all of your help through my year and a half engagement. I don’t think I could have planned my wedding without this site. Thank you Ron, Liz and Kim for creating a wonderful site!

We had a beautiful day for our wedding and we couldn't be happier! Here is my review of our beautiful day!

Engagement- December 4th, 2009: A+

I had been waiting for us to get engaged. My DH had just sold his BMW and I thought it could possibly be coming. He sold the car on Wednesday and asked if we could go to the city on Friday to go to Rockeller center to see the tree which had become a tradition for us. I said sure. So we drove into the city. We parked the car and walked to see the tree. I took a few pictures, he then said come here and gave me a big hug and when I pulled back he had the ring in his hand and ask me to marry him. I of course said Yes! We went to dinner and then began calling all our family and friends. There began our year and a half engagement.

Engagement ring: A+

DH bought my ring from Kay jewelers. I had told him what I wanted in regards to the shape of the stone but everything else he picked out and he did a fantastic job!

Bridal Shower- Davenport Press A+

My mom and sister and sister in law did a fantastic job. The food was delicious! The room was great! I had got so many amazing presents! It was an awesome day!

Bridesmaids Gift:

Eliot Danori Necklace-Macys-A+

I was trying to find a necklace that all of my girls would like, but also something simple that wouldn’t overpower the dress. When I found this necklace I knew it was perfect. All the girls loved them and it looked beautiful with the dress! I got my sister who was my MOH matching earrings and they looked amazing!

Wine glasses: etsy A+

I absolutely loved these glasses. I got the girls glasses that reflected what they drink-beer, wine, margharitas, martinis then each got their own personalized glass. I also got the groomsmen beer mugs with their names on it as well as our parents. I also got myself and DH wine glasses. Here is a picture of our wine glasses.

My dress: B*urtons A+

They did a fantastic job on my dress. They had my dress for at least $200 cheaper than a few other places. The dress came out absolutely beautiful and I couldn’t have been happier!

Bridesmaids dresses: Bridal Reflections D

We ordered our dresses from Bridal Reflections in Massapequa in about October. At that point we had just found out my sister in law was pregnant and would be 9 months at the time of the wedding. Sister in law ordered her dress and they kept telling her that 2 sizes bigger would be fine for her and she kept telling them that they needed to order bigger since with both her other daughters she gained 42 lbs each. The woman kept teller her 2 sizes bigger would be fine so she agreed. Fast forward to April, she goes for a fitting and the dress does not fit. They told her they had to order material which they didn’t tell her before and that the material was going to be another $200 (which was pretty much the cost of the dress) she didn’t have the money bc not one ever told her that to order material would be $200 so DH and I paid for her alterations. When she went back again for another fitting the material hadn’t arrived yet and nothing had been done to the dress. This was about a week and a half before the wedding. The seamstress took her measurements again and told her I’ll see you in 2 weeks and she told her no you wont the wedding is next Saturday! So they told her to come in the beginning of the next week. She goes in and there is still nothing done to the dress, but the material was in but in the wrong shade of purple. Thank God it was for the under part of the dress so no one could tell it was different colors. She was in and out of Bridal Reflections all week before the wedding and didn’t get to pick up the dress until the day before. Every time she went in there she was more and more upset to the point that they were telling her to calm down bc it wasn’t good for the baby. Everything worked out, but for them to aggravate a very pregnant woman 2 weeks before she was due to give birth was not a great idea. All of my other bridesmaids dresses were fine but my sister and sister in law were the only ones to get their alterations in Massapequa. Everyone else had them shipped to carle place. In the end the dresses looked amazing and I was happy with them, just not the service my sister in law received.

Mom also got her dress at Bridal Reflections. She had no issues and was very happy with her dress.

Flower girl dresses: barrons at Tri-County- A+

The FG dresses came out amazing! We picked out at dress at Barrons and the guy in there measured my FG’s and made the dresses to fit them. They came out beautiful. The girls looked great and they were very inexpensive!

I had won my invitations from a Facebook contest. Stella was my designer and absolutely amazing to work with. She gave me multiple designs of the invitation after I had given her all my information. I loved all of them, but the last 1 was definitely my favorite. She did so many proofs for me and answered all of my many questions. She was fabulous and I would definitely recommend her to anyone. I loved my invites so much I took advantage of one of there sales and ordered menus which I absolutely loved as well!

Food was amazing! I have known the owner and his son since I was a baby. His son and I were baptized the same day! They did a great job for us and we loved every minute!

John and Damien were my photographers. They were amazing! I had my proofs back a little over 2 weeks after the wedding. Everyone loves our pictures and they are so beautiful. The uncut video is great! Can’t wait to see our actually video!

Limos: Camelot-A-

I love Camelot! The cars were great and Joe was great, but I did have a problem with one of the drivers. She constantly rushed me all day long. She was getting in the way of my pictures to ask stupid questions. I felt like saying to her don’t bother me ask someone else, but I didn’t. When we went to go take pictures at the gazebo she rushed us out of there since we were running out of time we offered to pay for more time but she tells us she has to go and do something else so some of my pictures got cut short. When she dropped off my bridal party at our RH she was taking their stuff out of the limo and throwing it on the ground so all the guys were running to grab the stuff so all the girls bags wouldn’t be on the ground. The other drivers were great, but she was a real PIA!

Reception: Floral Terrace-A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Floral terrace went above and beyond what I could have ever imagined! They were amazing! The food was terrific! They were well staffed, so great with all our guests, came around with seconds of all the courses of the main meal. DH drinks Hennesey and red bull. They didn’t have any red bull so they sent someone out to go and get some. They were amazing! My bridal attendants were amazing! Anything I needed they were right there! Floral Terrace girls have nothing to worry about! We are still getting called from out guests telling us how amazing everything was!

Cake-For Rehearsal and Wedding Cake: Buttercooky Bakery-A+++

They are amazing! I have been getting my cakes from them in I was a year old! Both cakes were amazing. RD cake was white cake with cannoli filling. Wedding cake was white cake with chocolate mousse and strawberries. It was amazing!

Genesis Events was included in our price per person at Floral Terrace. They were absolutely amazing! The dance floor was packed all night long! We didn’t stop dancing all night long. They were so amazing and would definitely recommend them to anyone!

Florist- Albertson Florist-A+

We went with the florist who does the flowers for our church. She did an amazing job! My centerpieces were just as I imagined them. My bouquet and BM’s bouquets were amazing! Unfortunately the florist is moving to Florida so she will not be here to do anymore weddings but I am so glad we got to work with her before she left!
