My October 10th Wedding (UPDATED w/PHOTOS)

Hi Ladies,

I got so much help from the girls on this site, I hope I can do the same.

My Gown A
I went to Macy's in Smithaven Mall to look at dresses. They had such a great selection, but it only took 4 dresses until I found 'the one'. The ladies that work there in the evenings are wonderful! I would suggest going there then. I wasn't at all pleased with the ladies that worked during the day. Lucy was my seamstress and she was incredible!


Headpiece B+
Fantasy Land, Patchogue Floral - Great selection, reasonably priced but a little too pushy. If it were up to the lady that helped me, she would have wrapped up the first one I tried on and put a big SOLD sign on it!


Veil A
My veil came from Bridal Suite in Patchogue. I wish I had gone there for my dress. Those ladies are so much fun to work with.

Bridesmaid Dresses A
After choosing the Bill Levkoff dresses at Macy's, I got them from netbride.com. Macy's wanted $230 for them and I paid netbride $130. The dresses were beautiful, the only problem was that my sisters zipper broke when she was getting dressed and my Mom had to sew her into it. I don't blame netbride, it was the way it was made.


Flower Girl Dresses - A+
I got these beautiful dresses from eBay seller glambagirl. I paid $40, they came within a week and they were just perfect!


Mother of the Bride Dress- A
My Mom got her dress at Estelle's. They had a fantastic selection and she was so pleased. I cried when she walked out in the one she chose. She looked so beautiful. Their prices are unbeatable.


Tux- A+
North Main Street Cleaners -
When you live in a small town, you go to the dry cleaners to get your Tux Leslie and Jay are old family friends and could not have been more helpful.


Flowers A++
Strawberry Fields - Montauk. Mary and her work are incredible! My flowers were gorgeous! I left a lot of the decisions up to her because I knew how creative she is. She did a fantastic job and the price was unbelievable.



Invitations- A
I ordered mine online from invitationsbydawn.com. I loved doing it online because I could take my time and see what each font looked like. They were fairly inexpensive and the quality was great. I received them in 4 days.


Extras- A
I just have to mention that I made a few trips to Connecticut to the Christmas Tree Shop for odds and ends. If you get a chance, you must go. I got thank you notes, frames for seating cards and table numbers, white lights for trees and some odd stuff all very inexpensively. I think the porcelain seating card frames cost about .50 each!


Make Up- A+
Beautiful Possibilities - Dina was such a sweetheart and did a wonderful job. She came all the way out to East Hampton from Nassau County to do my trial and only charged me $20. I loved what she did and signed her up on the spot. The day of the wedding, she arrived early and she did a great job of keeping me calm. While everyone was running around the house like mad woman, she had me focused on eating and relaxing. She even banned my niece from the room when she came in to tell me my sisters zipper totally broke. I highly recommend Dina to everyone.


Photographer A++
TimeXposures -I can't say enough about Jon. He was so easy to work with right from the start. He customized a package for me that we could afford and it wasn't skimpy. He arrived at the house early with his photo assistant and took tons of pictures of me from make-up to getting in the limo. I felt so comfortable with him there, because I knew he would take care of everything. That came in handy at the reception when the supposed 'Maitre D' turned out to be a ZERO I'll review that later! The point is, my pictures came out better than I ever imagined. Now I just have the task of trying to decide which I like best for the album.

DJ A+
High Voltage - Vinny, like my photographer, was the greatest! People are still telling me that he was the best they had ever seen/heard. I gave him a play list and he followed it, but made adjustments to keep people on the floor all night long. We kept him playing for an additional 2 hours. There was never a time when people weren't dancing. My Boss even danced and that's unheard of! All this for $600.

Limo- A
East End Limousine - They were wonderful. They gave me a great deal and the night before the wedding, helped me tremendously when I wanted to add a second limo.

Reception Hall- D
Montauk Yacht Club - Let's start with the good. It looked really pretty and the food was fantastic! They sucked in every other category! After so much time planning every detail, it really was disappointing to find that they didn't take the care they should have. I could give you every last detail, but I won't bore you. I wished I had listened to others who had their weddings there and advised me against it. We are so thankful for the help our photographer and DJ gave us. Without them, we might have been totally lost! Still, nothing could have ever spoil our day!

Cake by Kathy Burton- A
Even thought I didn't get to taste it, I was told it was wonderful! Kathy is such a pleasure to work with.


Honeymoon/Travel Agent- A
I used The Visitor Center to book my honeymoon to Hawaii. Nancy was our agent and she was great! I did a lot of research and found that almost all travel agencies can get you the same deals. Nancy was just so sweet and helpful. We spent 5 nights at the Hyatt on Maui and 5 at the Hyatt on Kauai. Both were incredible. If I would to do it again, I would stay at on Kauai at the beginning of my trip and then go to Maui. Kauai is very laid back and relaxing. Since DH and I were dead tired for the first few days it would have been perfect to be there. It was the most amazing place I had ever been! I want to go back this minute! If you go to Maui, you have to do the sunrise bike ride down the volcano!!!



DH spent A LOT of time on the waterslide on Maui...

...and again on Kauai!

Yes, it was scary at first. I was having my hair and makeup done when it was cloudy and rainy. When I left the beauty parlor the sun was shining. I was so happy.

My Mom fell about 10:30 so we did the cake cutting and then had friends bring her to the ER. I felt so bad she had ro leave. We didn't tell her we paid the bar & DJ to stay an extra 2 hours. She doesn't nee to know she missed anything
