My October 20, 2007 Review!!! Leonards, William Britton, OWG, Duet, Royalty, and many more!!!

Let me start by saying, My wedding day was truly the happiest day of my life!!! I can safely say that I loved every min of it, and to me inspite of a few bumps in the road was better and more perfect than I could have ever imagined!

This site has been such a tremendous help to me! Some of the most talked about touches to my wedding were first seen here by me, and I was able to do so much more than I ever would have thought of! Ideas like slipper baskets, and DIY's I got them all from here, and the wonderful brides who I am so lucky to have meet here on this awesome site! THANK YOU Ron, Liz, and Kim!!!

Weather - A+++ I really had a gorgeous day! It was probably one of the last warm weekends in october and the day was glowing and warm I was a bit nervous because the day before it was pouring! But Mother Nature came through with a gorgeous day!

Bridal Reflections - D-
-My Wedding dress by steven Yearick-
I would NEVER RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE!!! The only reason they did not get an F is because the buying experience was nice. But for the prices of their dresses, it should be more than nice! As far as alterations, RUN!!! RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!! HORRIBLE. The seamstress was a nightmare, she would not listen, would not let me finish sentances, had to alter my dress like 4 times, and was mad that I did not like how the dress was fitting, and made her re do it! She Made it so TIGHT on my breast Area and so loose on my waist, i Looked like a stuffed sausage on top buldging out all over the place and then by my waist had no defination because it was hanging! Then, she takes my veil order and 3 days before my wedding hands me the wrong veil and then yells at me for getting upset and crying. I spent 800 dollars on my veil and she gives me the ugliest veil in exsistance that does not even match the color of my dress!!!! Luckily Rosalie was there and went straight to the manager and they had to call the designer and rush order and express the correct veil to me the day before my wedding. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE!!!!!



Bridal Elegance C-
-BM and Flower Girl Dresses-
Bridal elegance used to be great, but my poor girls got nothing but attitude and very poor quality alterations from them. Phyllis on many occasions was very kurt and abrupt with my BM...Not to mention that THEY FORGOT to put in the flower girl dress order for 2 of my flower girls, and they tried to blame it on us!!! I think that LIW bride recommended them so much that they got WAY to big for their bridges... The Hems of 3 of my BM's Dresses fell apart, and my sisters straps were never altered and they kept falling off her shoulders. We were not happy with them.



Officiant: Pastor William Britton- A++++
Pastor Bill was beyond our expectations! from start to finish, he was so attentive to our need and desired for our ceremony. At our meeting, he went over the ceremony line for line with us and made sure that our ceremony was exactly what we wanted. My father could not stop saying that He Loved the ceremony!

The Howard Beach Assembly of God Church - A
Although my DH was not happy about the fact that I went ahead and booked this church, it turned out to be just beautiful. This is my parents church, and I wanted to be married in a place with meaning. It is a pentacostal church, so it does not have a lot of adornments and decorations, it is very plain, but from the non pro pics it looked very pretty. the church workers we kind enough to place white flower arrangements in each window, and it went well with my alter baskets that Flower Michele made for us. We had at least 100 guests at the church, it was PACKED! I was happy with the church

Leonards of Great Neck aka 'la Dolce Vita' - A+++++
I was so happy with them! We were in the 'starlight Venitian' room up on the penthouse level, and it was GORGEOUS!!! From the min we stepped out of the limo, they treated us like royalty! we had 2 bridal attendants and a matre'd, and they were WONDERFUL! (I wish i could remember their names, but i forgot) our bridal suite was UNREAL! it was huge and they set up 6 cocktail hour tables and a mini buffet in the center of the room, it was GORGEOUS! and we even had an out door terrace
Some of my guest decided to arrive early, and Leonards opened the cocktail hour early. The food was excellent, there was SO MUCH at the cocktail hour. My Guest still rave about how delicious the food was!!! The staff was Wonderful! they were so attentive, courteous & friendly. I really feel they bent over backwards for my wedding. They went out of their way on everthing we SOOO and accommodating. So many of our guests said to us through our wedding at how nice everyone and everthing was at Leonards was

www.lorilis.com - Personalized Aisle Runner - A+++
I Loved my aisle runner! it was gorgeous, I am pretty sure that no one got a picture of it, which is very upsetting! I hope that Duet got it! It had our monogram and date, set by the alter and a bit further back it had the song of Solomon quote 'I have found the one my soul loves' Lori did a great job! Love it!





After Hours String Quartet - A++++
I am not a fan of organ music, to me it sounds a bit creepy, lol! After Hours String Quartet was Outstanding! They sounded just gorgeous for the processional and recessional! I put it in my mind to pay attention for at least a second or to to the music! I was so happy with how elegant our ceremony music was! our guests keep asking for their information. I highly recommend them!

Royalty Limos - A
During the planning phase we hit a bump in the road with them. We were quoted one price and then when we went to sign the contracts, whole other price... Needless to say we were not happy... However, seeing how upset we were becoming, the did right by us and worked out a contract that we could absolutely agree on, and we were very happy with the customer service recovery work. On the day of, the Drivers were EXCELLENT! They knew exactly where they were going and were kind and courteous. The reason that there is not a '+' after the A rating is because, at one point, during the ride to OWG, our driver was mentioning that to avoid running in to over time we (DH and I) should jump in the BP limo (they were in the escalade, we were in the Excalibur) because it looked like we were running a bit late. But I said, i would rather not, because regardless of how late we are getting to OWG, they are going to make us leave on time, and there for we would get to Leonard's on time, and there would be no need for OT. He kept on pushing that a point, and we got the impression, that he just wanted to leave early... ultimately, we got to leonards on time as planned...They still get an A because everything else about their service on our day was excellent.



Duet photohgrapher/video - A+++++++
I LOVE DUET! my engagement photo session was wonderful, i loved the proofs. Jay and his team were amazing on our wedding day! They were right on time, and they kept everything moving along. I can not say enough about how professional they are. They were not intrusive or obnoxious at all during the ceremony, but they were everywhere! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE! I can't wait to post my proofs here with this review!

After Hours Entertainment (dj) - A+++++++++
By far one of my favorite vendors! Phil was our MC, and he was AWESOME! from start of planning to the day of our wedding, phil was right on top of everything! My DH has a strange taste in music, and wanted some songs played that are not usually heard at a wedding party, phil worked them in perfectly! And he managed to work in every one of our must play songs! I am asked all the time for their info by our wedding guests, they raved about after hours! LOVE THEM!

Flower Michele - A+++++
I loved working with john! He was wonderful, and my flowers were GORGEOUS!!!! everyone loved my bo-k with was all 'black Calla's' it was gorgeous! pics soon!!!





Gorgeous Faces (jillian, sarah and bridget) - A+++++
I love my make up for my wedding day!!! Jillian gave me EXACTLY the look i wanted, and in pics I looked GORGEOUS! I had an eye infection a week before my wedding, and any left over redness that may have been there was covered. she did most of my girls as well, and they all looked GORGEOUS! The make up stayed fresh all day! Sarah and Bridget Rock did mine and my girls hair! They did a great job, and we all looked beautiful!

Expressions Wedding and Event Design (Rosalie) - A+++++
She was non stop on my wedding day! from start to finish, she made sure everything went smoothly. I had her not only as a DOC, but as a wedding planner as well. It was a great comfort to have here there for every step of the way! Rosalie is great!

Knot to be forgotten - A+++
I loved my invitations! They were GORGEOUS! they were elegant and beautiful, everything I wanted in an invite. I had them made custom from a design by elite (ktbf) made sure that they were exactly what I wanted, and did not accept anything but perfection from them! they were worth every penny!



Inkspun.com (to address the invites computer calligraphy) A+
for the price and the turn around time they did an amazing job. They kept 5 blank envelops incase we needed to add some last min guests, and that turned out to be a very good thing! We added more than five, lol! I highly recommend them. They are so well priced and their work is beautiful!

NicTamDesigns (Ebay vendor) - A+
They made our place cards for the reception and direction cards to the church. The direction cards matched the invite paper perfectly and the font as well. The place cards were double layered and were Gorgeous. They were so nice and easy to work with as well.

Nashville Wraps - A
we used them to make our personalized euro totes for our favors. They turned out gorgeous. They only negative was that their min was high, and we had to order 250 bags, even though we only needed 120, lol! so we have a whole bunch extra. but still well worth it. out of all the other vendors theirs were the nicest and had the best price :) We also ordered organza bags for the slipper basket from them, black and ivory, and they were very good quality.

Old WestBury Gardens - B+
OWG is Gorgeous! I am glad that We booked them for our wedding day, but I thought I would have a bit more choices in where we could take pics, But the pics did come out Great! It is very expensive for only an hour and a half. Also, a person is assgined to your party to make sure that you are out of there in EXACTLY 1 and 1/2 hr, lol! But it was beautiful :)

Church programs - A+++
These came out great, I was very happy with the paper I bought at staples, which was Program paper for the cover and a fine linen in ivory for the inside. I used one of our monograms, and placed it on the cover and followed a template on the Microsoft template site.




Unity Candle - A+++
I bought an Ivory Pillar from Michael's and searched for some nice black and Silver ribbon. I also bought some middle size rhinestones as well. I printed the wording of vellum paper (8 and 1/2 by 11) and with a little help from a glue gun and Wa la unity candle was DONE! I made matching tapers as well :)

Table Number Votive holders - A++++
I made these in the same style of the unity candle, and they were Great! I had so many complements on them!

Slipper Baskets - A
I just used black and Ivory organza bags and black chinese slippers. For tags I used business cards, and printed the sizes on the tags. Everyone Loved them! They were a big hit! My DJ announced that they were available to the guests, and they went like hot cakes!

Great Review Mimi, sounds like you had my experience with the seamstress at BR in Carle Place. I actually wrote a letter complaing about her and to be honest she started listening to me after that. Sorry you were not happy with the outcome of the alteration, but glad everything else tuned out great and cant wait to see Pics.
