My review: **3/31/06**North Ritz, Duet, Flower Michelle, Sir Oliver

I've been a LIWeddings member since I got engaged in January of 2005. I haven't posted much but I have gotten so much information from this site and pretty much booked all my vendors based on opinions of the girls on this site. Thank you all for sharing so much valuable information. My wedding was perfect and beautiful and I could not have done it without you!

North Ritz Club - A+++++++++++++
NRC was the best decision I have ever made. First of all the place is absolutely beautiful. The food was fantastic (we had filet mignon, tilapia with baby lobster sauce and chicken Tuscany. The chicken was a bit dry I have to admit - it's a boneless, skinless breast so that's probably why. Our salad was the mixed greens with fresh mozzarella. My guests are still raving about the food. The cocktail hour was insane. We had the mashed potato bar ( a huge hit with the guest), Mexican, wok, Italian hot & cold, pasta and carving stations (there were 2 more stations but I can't remember right now what they were) and the martini slide. There was so much food, it was outrageous. The Viennese hour was even more unbelievable. Crepes station, ice cream sundae station, zepoles, Belgian waffles, a white chocolate and milk chocolate fountain, pastries, cakes, cookies, flambe, pies, cappuccinos, I could go on and on forever. The best part was we were sent home with 3 boxes filled with desserts and 3 tins filled with extra dinners. My dog ate filet mignon for a week. He was very happy!!!!

Our Maitre D was George. He was fantastic. He did not miss a beat. Everything went so smoothly thanks to him. I never felt like I was being dragged away from my guests or my husband. He knew exactly what was going on at all times. Several of my guests commented that he kept asking if anyone needed anything, how was everyone enjoying themselves etc. He was terrific.

My bridal assistant (god forgive me I forgot her name) was outstanding. She never left my side. She brought us food, drinks; she fixed my bustle that was too long. She was as sweet as could be.

From start to finish, NRC was top of the line. 5 star service, 5 star presentation!


Sir Oliver Limousines A+++++
I booked Sir Oliver strictly based on the reviews on this site. All of the girls with rave reviews on this vendor were 100% correct! The cars were beautiful! The drivers were all on time and courteous. The cars were stocked with drinks and goodies! They even called my husband on the wedding day and offered him a free upgrade from a Lincoln to the brand new Excursion. All the guys loved it! I had a vintage Caddy for me and my dad. It was beautiful. Our driver was Tim. He was fantastic. We even booked Sir Oliver for our airport transportation for the honeymoon. Again, on time, courteous, totally a pleasure. I'm so glad I booked with them!

Duet Photography A+++++
Another vendor booked based on the reviews I found on this site. I had Jay and his team. Seriously I felt like a celebrity. They took pictures from the moment they arrived until the minute we left. They did not miss a minute. They were never rude or distracting. They were always there to capture every moment and they were extremely nice, friendly and our guests loved their personalities. They made our guests feel like they were so excited to take their pictures. I did hear some guest complain that they were a bit over the top, because every time you turned around there was a photographer taking pictures. Most of my guests were impressed by them, some were annoyed. Personally I never felt distracted or annoyed by them. Jay’s style is a lot of photojournalism so he wants you to feel like he’s not there. And he captured the most amazing moments. I just got my proofs from them last week. They are going to put them all online for me next week and my family and friends will be able to see them and purchase prints. I scanned some of the proofs myself which I’ll post the link for so you have an idea of what their work is like. They even took pics of the food at NRC and my flowers, cake, menus, place cards, etc. All the details! I haven’t had time to scan those yet but I promise I will!

Flower Michele A+++++
Another liweddings vendor! I booked with Mike. He is truly incredible. I knew from the minute I met him that he would do a beautiful job. He was so excited about my color scheme and what I wanted. I didn't even go back to see a sample centerpiece. I was that confident in them! And I was right. My bouquet was all black baccarat roses. They were stunning. When they showed up to deliver the flowers all of my BMs saw their bouquets (Eskimo roses for the BMs and a mix of Eskimo, cherry love, blush and black baccarat roses for my MOH) they were speechless. The flowers were gorgeous. When I entered the reception room and saw my centerpieces I wanted to jump up and down like a little girl. They were gorgeous. Guests were fighting over who was taking them home and some of my sneaky guests got 2. I'm told the flowers lasted almost 2 weeks in the centerpiece bowl (I had low centerpieces with white hydrangea, black baccarat and cherry love roses). They were full and tight and the color was outrageous. You can't go wrong with this vendor. They are top notch in every way!

Bridal Reflections - Massapequa A+
I know this salon gets mixed reviews but I have to say that I had a wonderful experience with them. NOTE I did not get my dress here. I got my BM dresses from Bridal Reflections and they were really terrific. They have a lot of girls in the shop and they were all very courteous and helpful to me at all times. They do get busy and overwhelmed at times but they were always very good to me. My MOH became pregnant 2 months before my wedding. By the time she went for her alterations not only did the dress not fit but because of the way her body had changed, they had to completely take the dress apart at every seem, buy extra fabric and reconstruct the dress to suit my MOH so that she would be comfortable and look good at the same time. For $100 in lieu of the $55 alteration cap they worked an absolute miracle. Her dress looked fabulous on her and she loved it!

Macy's Bridal - Manhasset - A+
I bought my Demetrios dress at Macys and had my alterations done there. The customer service was great. The alterations were done extremely well. I have no complaints about Macys. I adore my dress. I wish I had an excuse to wear it again!

RPM DJ Entertainment - A+++++
My Dj is the father of a friend of mine that I've gone to school with since Kindergarten. He's Dj'd all of my dances through middle school and high school and we booked him for our e-party. He is absolutely the best DJ I know. He played every single song we wanted to hear. He has the best emcee voice and he really got our guests excited and out on the dance floor.

All My Love All My Life (ebay vendor) - A+++++
Sharon from All my Love All My Life did all of my custom stationary items except my invites. She did my STDs, Favor Tags, Place Cards, Menus, and Bathroom Basket Poems & Table Numbers. Everything matched and was designed according to my color scheme and my style. She emailed me proofs of everything for my approval. She also got me my favors (stainless steel salt and pepper grinder) for the best price I could find. People are still commenting on how elegant and beautiful all the small details were, like the place cards and favor tags. Sharon's prices were so reasonable there was no way I would do with out these things. Super Affordable and great quality and 5 star service. Sharon is a doll and a pleasure to work with!
