MY Sorry it took so long May 28, 2006 Wedding Day Review CHATEAU LA MER, UNLIMITED ENTERTAINMENT, DOUBLE DIAMOND LIMO, GEORGEWOOD FLORIST...

OK so it's been a long while since I've signed on. Half of the reason is because I've been just plain lazy and the other half is because I was traumatized by a disgruntled wedding party member posting horrible things just 4 days before my wedding. Nothing ever came of it. She knows that I know it was her, but she also knows I will NEVER forget it So now let's get to what's important......

May 28, 2006- The most beautiul day of my life

WEATHER: It was a bit hot that day, but the sun was shining and the skies were blue. We really lucked out since it poured every weekend before and after.

FLORIST: GEORGEWOOD FLORIST, Bayside NY A+++
Dave went above and beyond. He remained extremely patient with me as I changed my mind over and over again. Everything was perfect.

PHOTOGAPHER/VIDEOGRAPHER: QUEENS BRIDAL CENTER, Mineola, NY
I prefer not to comment until I receive my album and DVD.

GOWN/BM DRESSES?FLOWER GIRL DRESSES: DAVID'S BRIDAL, Long Island City, NY C+
I tried on what seems like 1000 gowns all over and finally found my gown at David's Bridal. The customer service wasn't the greatest. Most of the consultants semed to walk around wth a bit of an attitude and everytime I went there, I always had to wait atleast 20 minutes. Then I met ALCIRA. She gets an A++++++! She was the best. She was very patient and extremely helpful. I bought my gown in October, but then lost 2 dress sizes and my seamstress told me it would be better to exchange it for a smaller size. This was just 1 month before the wedding. The manager of the store did not want to accomodate me, but ALCIRA was able make it happen.I received my gown just 2 weeks before my wedding. She was my sigh of relief. I loved my gown. It was perfect. Style T8017 I had reservations about it up until the big day, but once I had it on and was ready to walk down the aisle, I knew I had made the right choice.

The Bridesmaids didnt have any complaints about their dresses. They were all happy with them. The only thing they complained about was the shoes. They called up David's to see if the shoes were ready and they were told that they were, but when they went to pick them up, they were absolutely NOT READY. My friends had to wait around for 45 minutes to get their shoes dyed and had to take them home wet! There were other issues with the shoes, but forgive me, it's been so long, I don't remember details. I just remember it was a major PIA!

ALTERATIONS: JL FRENCH CLEANERS, Flushing, NY A+++
Mimi did a beautiful job altering all of our dresses, including the size 20 that she had to turn into a size 12! I've been using her practically since I was born.

REHEARSAL DINNER: THE WHITE HOUSE, Whitestone NY A
I don't have much to say about The White house since my family has been going there for years. The food is great and the service was great too.

GROOMS CAKE: DORTONI'S, Levittown, NY A+++
My husband is on the pool team and so I had a cheesecake made to look like the top of a pool table! They did a FANTASTIC JOB! I wish I had a photo, but it seems one of our groomsman is holding it for randsom...The cake was delicious and their prices are incredibly reasonable!!

HAIR AND MAKEUP: JIM, a family friend, A+++
Jim did a beatiful job on all of us. We all looked FABULOUS!!!

WEDDING CAKE: CAMPBELL'S BAKERY, Brentwood, NY A+
This is who CLM uses as their baker. I went there to speak with Dana about what I wanted my cake to look like and she did a beautiful job. The colors were a little off, but that was my own fault. I kept changing my mind.

TUXEDO'S: AFTER HOURS, Westbury, NY C-
Not much to say here either. It just seems like no matter what, there's always drama with After Hours. Long waits. Wrong Sizes, etc.

LIMOS: DOUBLE DIAMOND, Brooklyn, NY C-
The cars were very nice and they were on time, BUT
What kind of a limo driver complains to the Bride and her father about the priest 3 seconds before they are about to walk down the aisle? Not for nothing but that pissed me off.


DJ: UNLIMITED ENTERTAINMENT, Babylon or Lindenhurst (not sure) NY A+++++++++++++
Eddie was great. The dance floor was always packed and everyone (even those who don't know how) had a great time. They even played a little bit longer than they were supposed to. The only complaint I have is that, although it was very well done, there were just a couple of spelling errors in our montage. When Eddie realized what had happened he made the corrections and sent us two updated copies!! I will continue to recommend him to everyone!

RECEPTION: CHATEAU LA MER, Lindenhurst NY A++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Nick and Monika were FANTASTIC! They were always there when we needed something and the party went off without a hitch! Thr food was terrific and the serrvice was impecable! Everyone said it was the best wedding they had ever been to. My father is still raving about them and believe me that means a lot. I found out much later that they threw in an ice sculpture and I think dessert cordials. I can't wait to have another reason to have a party there!

HONEYMOON: SHERATON KAUAI, HAWAII B-
We had a beautiful ocean front room. I woke up early every morning, just to sit out on the balcony and listen to the ocean. The resort was beautiful and everything was within arms reach. Unfortunatly, the 'free' breakfast and 'mai tais' weren't free at all. We had to pay about 30 bucks a day for that and let me tell you the breakfast was pretty bad. The fruit was moldy and the french toast was hard (kind like it was microwaved for too long) . I said to myself 'What do you want for a free breakfast?' and then I realized, we were paying for this. Needless to say we ventured out for breakfast after the first couple of days. The free Mai Tais at Mai Tai hour werent too great either......Otherwise the resort and the island was beautiful and we didnt want to come home...EVER........
