My wedding 4-20-07

I still can?t believe it?s all over. I had a wonderful day, I was very lucky. My best advice to any bride is don?t let the little things bother you. You have done all you can by that point and what?s going to happen is going to happen. Focus on having a great time that day. I didn?t give my vendors ratings because everything turned out excellent. So I just didn?t feel it was necessary

LI Weddings :
I couldn?t have had a wedding with out this site. I wouldn?t have known who the vendors to have and where to even find them. Everyone on this board was very helpful I am so thankful for this site and every time I hear some is getting married I tell them to go to this site.

Salon Visage

I Loved my hair. I had changed my mind about having it half up and half down after the trial. I never went for another trial and just told Laura the day of what I had in mind because, I forgot my pictures. Laura got exactly right and it was beautiful. She did an amazing job and I couldn?t thank her enough. She also did my highlights 2 weeks before the wedding and I loved them. All the girls at the salon are great. Some of bridesmaids also got their hair done as well as my mom and sister. I think the pictures speak for themselves.

I am still in shock of the beautiful job Maria did. It looked great at the trial and unbelievable on the wedding day. I don?t wear a lot of makeup and most days I don?t wear anything at all. So I didn?t want anything that made me look to made up, but still wanted to look beautiful. She did such a great job people from my job were still talking about it when I got back from my honeymoon.

Flower Barn

The hardest part of my wedding planning was picking a florist. I actually hated this part of the wedding planning. I had called a few florist who blew me off because it was too early and I had plenty of time. I meant with another who I felt just wasn?t interested in me booking with them, it was the end of the day her computers weren?t working. I felt very unwelcome. I was getting very discourage, I didn?t know what to do. Then I met Michael, who was just wonderful. I had no idea what type of flowers I wanted or what to get, and he really helped me and worked with me. He even brought out physical examples of flowers right then and there to show me. Then he worked with me to make sure he was within my budget. I was impressed I went home after the meeting and was back in a ½ hour to put a deposit down.

Royalty Limo:
I know Royalty has been getting some mixed reviews, but anyone who was on the fence about going with them I have to tell you I thought they were absolutely wonderful. We had to limos a hummer and a princess rolls. The limo drivers were both friendly and excellent (We had Charlie and Michael). I actually added money to the tip I had set aside for them, because I was so impressed. We had a little mishap with one of the limos between the reception and church, and Royalty quickly remedied the problem and set another limo there was no problem and nobody was late to get to the reception.

St. Martin of Tours Church, Fr. Tizio: I don?t think I can rate my church, but everything was wonderful. I had no problems. Fr. Tizio did a beautiful job and he was very patient when the ceremony had to start late because the grooms parents were stuck in traffic.

Planting Fields: I love the Planting Fields, it is beautiful and huge. Unfortunately because of the weather it was not in full bloom as it had been the year before. We also had started late at the church so I had less time there then I would have liked. The only negative experience I had was the day of the wedding, All My Children was filming there. It wasn?t a terrible inconvenience, but I wasn?t able to get some shots I would have liked because we had a lot more restrictions. I was notified of the filming only the week before my wedding. I think it would have been nice if I was compensated some how. We still got some beautiful shots and I wouldn?t discourage anyone from taking their pictures there when the place is absolutely gorgeous and even a nice place just to visit.

Chateau Briand: Ok all I can say is WOW. I definitely made the right choice with this place. I have not one negative comment about this place. When we had our final meeting I asked for the photo studio with the Monet pictures in it. I was so distracted that day it took me about 20 minutes to realize that they had met my request. I was so happy. We got some beautiful pictures. Our bridal attendants were so helpful. After the photo studio our bridal attendants asked Rob and I if we wanted to go to the bridal suite to spend some time together. We had time to be at the whole cocktail hour, but we decided to go to the bridal suite for a little while and I think it was a great move. We had time to calm down, and just be with each other. After about a ½ hour we went to the cocktail hour and visited some people. Then the bridal attendants came and got us to see the room before they let everyone in. I loved getting a first glimpse at the room. The place was beautiful, we never saw the other party. Rob and I were given a sample of everything on the menu to try which I thought was really nice. Elmer the matri?d was excellent.

My DH and my brothers stayed at the Holiday Inn the day before the wedding, the photographer found no where to take pictures there so they all went next door to the Chateau Briand and the Chateau Briand was more then accommodating and let them take pictures all over the lobby and outside. They even turned on the waterfall for them so they could get some pictures in front of it.

Holiday Inn: Not the most luxurious hotel, but clean and convenient. When I first called I was not at all impressed with the women helped me. She basically told me I had plenty of time and had to wait to block rooms. Within a month of talking to her someone called me back and wanted to know if I wanted to still block my rooms for them. The women I had originally spoken to was gone and I could indeed block rooms now I didn?t have to wait until August. After that I had no other issues. I asked them to keep the bar opened and I was told that they would see what they could do, but if the bartenders didn?t have the crowed to carry it over until 1:30 when my reception ended they might be closed. They also told me I should send them an e-mail so they had my request in writing. I never got around to writing it, but they did keep the bar opened and some of my guest were very happy.

Parties Alive: One of my mom?s big fears was that nobody would get up in dance, we had no problem with the selection of music. Rich was our MC and I believe Sean was the name of the DJ. They did a great job.

Photo and Video: My brother Joe is a photographer and he hired photographers that he has worked for. They did such and excellent job we had so much fun. My brother did my engagement photos and will be doing all the editing of my photos and video. I don?t have any of their information, but if any one is interested feel free to FM me and I will get the details.

S&S Tuxedos

I went with DH and my mom to pick out the tuxedos. The guy who helped us was great. He found us the perfect tuxedo and vest after vest until we were satisfied. Each of the guys who went there send everyone was helpful. We had no problems everyone?s tuxes fit great. The grooms tux was free no matter what designer he chose and we were able to get another one for free, we couldn?t decide who to give the free tux to so the guy gave us the option to have each fathers tux for half off.

Bridal Garden
Bethpage, NY
The Bridal Garden did an excellent job on my dress. I didn't feel my bridesmaids and mother had the same positive experience I did.. Everyone the day of looked great. My mother's dress was too big for her though and in many of the pictures you can see her bra. I just felt my mom was not given an opportunity to try on her dress after the second fitting and if she was the problem could have been resolved. I also recommend the set up to hold your bustle is strong enough my bustle fell down several times, I just think that the one button was not enough for the weight of my dress so make sure you check this.

Honeymoon: Disney World
We had a wonderful time on our honeymoon! We love Disney and enjoyed our honeymoon. We did lots of activities that we hadn't done before. We went to Discovery Cove and Swam with the dolphins. We did the Segway tour at epcot. We had breakfast at Cinderella Castle. We went to a dinner show. We stayed at the Caribbean Beach resort the atmosphere is wonderful and relaxing.

FYI I called them this past Friday and the woman told me to write a letter with my original permit and they would refund my money!!!!

Wow great to know. I really hope I have my original permit. I was so annoyed because of the fee and then because we were getting there later we had to pay extra money.
