My wedding day was definitely everything I hoped it would be and more. I married the love of my life and shared it with our family and friends. We felt so loved and special. If I could do it again, I would not change a thing! It was as every bride before and after will say--the best day of my life.



LIW- A++++ Thank you Ron and Liz for creating this wonderful site. It is a wonderful source of wedding information. Although I didn’t post that much, I gained a wealth of knowledge from everyone’s thoughts and ideas. I incorporated many of these great ideas from the site into my wedding. I often found myself referring to LIW to answer any of my wedding related questions. Someone was always willing to help me out. The 07ers were especially helpful, so thanks!!!





Rehearsal Dinner- A+ Casa Luis in Smithtown is where Jim and I went on our first dinner date and we have returned there many of times over the years. We decided that this was a special place that we wanted to share with our closest family and friends. They did a great job with the food, especially the Chicken Villaroy and the Sangria was delicious.



Weather- A+ It turned out to be a beautiful day. Originally there was a 70% chance of showers and then there was a 30% chance of showers, but on the day of we had gorgeous weather. It was sunny and about 80 degrees. The rain didn’t come until about 11:30 at night while everyone was at the reception. We had the best of both worlds, because we got to take our outside pictures and have our outdoor ceremony, yet it rained on our wedding day, which is considered good luck, according to tradition.
























Ceremony/ Reception- Sunset Harbour- A++ They did a magnificent job. I could not believe when I walked in how beautiful the place looked. They set everything up exactly the way I had asked. All my details were done to perfection and exactly how I wanted them. Throughout the planning process, everyone was extremely helpful and accommodating. We were able to get a very reasonable pp and they allowed us to use the entire facilities for the night. I loved being the only people there. We had the ceremony outside on the deck, the cocktail hour in the Club Room, and the reception in the Harbour Room. They are located on the Great South Bay which is great for pictures. Our Maitre D’, Gina, was very attentive and ran a great show. The food was delicious and the bartenders kept the drinks flowing. They threw in frozen drinks, champagne and strawberries, and our favorite beers, Sam Adams Summer Ale and Blue Point Toasted Lager. Oh and our guests loved the Viennese Hour. Sunset Harbour was amazing and I would highly recommend them for future brides.















Invites- Costco A
Costco has a nice selection of invitations available online. We were able to order exactly what we wanted and the price was reasonable. I believe the invites were called “simply elegant,” which is what they were.




Personalized Ribbon- Party City A
I ordered personalized rose ribbon with our names, date, and wedding bells for the favors. It took a few weeks and looked great. Party City was easy to work with.

Staples and Michaels- DIY project materials A

Ebay- Yankees garter & Unity Candle Holder




Rings- A Jim got my engagement ring from Salvatore & Co. in the Diamond District and we were so pleased with the quality, price, and service that we decided to get our wedding bands there too.



Hair- Richards Salon- Nancy A+
Nancy has been my hairdresser since I was a little girl, so I knew I needed to book her to do my hair and my moms for the wedding day. Richard’s Salon is located in Smithtown. They were so cute and had a congratulations balloon hanging when I got there. Nancy worked with us as we created the hairdos that we wanted.



Make Up by Lauren- A+
Lauren is not only a make up artist, but a wedding planner as well, so I knew that I needed to book her for her to do mine and my mom’s make up for the wedding. She was very professional and did a great job. She uses her own make up and takes a lot of pride in her work. By using different techniques and fake individual lashes, she really made my eyes pop. My mom and I both loved our make up and I would highly recommend Lauren.



Dresses- Commack Wedding Center A-
Although the service is not the best, the selection and prices were fantastic. I wound up getting my gown here, my mom’s dress here, and my bridesmaid dresses here. They all came in on time and looked great.



Tuxes- Rogers Tuxedos A
FH did all of the tuxedo planning. He said that they were easy to work with and there were no problems. The prices were reasonable and the boys looked great, especially Jim!




Officiant- Pastor April- Church of Ancient Ways A+
Pastor April was wonderful. She is the sweetest woman and completely personalized the ceremony for us. After one meeting with her we knew she was doing our ceremony. We decided to incorporate both traditional and our own vows. Our guests and family raved about how personal and romantic the ceremony was. She did a great job and I would highly recommend.


Florist- Flowers by Diana A+
The flowers blew me away! I vowed that I would not spend an arm and a leg in this category, but I still wanted flowers that looked nice. Jim’s aunt recommended Flowers by Diana and we were not disappointed. I met with her and told her what I wanted to spend and described “my vision” of flowers. She showed me pictures and made suggestions. The day of, all of the flowers were beautiful. The centerpieces were bright and colorful, the boutonnières were lovely, and the bouquets were phenomenal. I absolutely loved mine and the girls’ flowers. Diana did a great job!







Limo- Camelot Limos A+
Joe from Camelot Limos was wonderful to work with. He got us a great deal on the Hummer, which was clean, on time, and looked great. We loved having the extra room for our bridal party. I would highly recommend this company as they were reasonably priced, professional, and reliable. They run a good business that ensures that you won’t get let down on your wedding day!



DJ- Absolute Entertainment- Kevin and Mike A+
Absolute was “absolutely wonderful.” They were recommended and when I heard them at a showcase, I knew that I had to book. I went out on a limb and requested Kevin, the owner. Well, it was my lucky day and he agreed to do my wedding. He was amazing. Him and Mike did my ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. They played music from all genres and kept the dance floor packed. They did a wonderful job of coordinating with the other vendors and kept things flowing nicely. Everyone kept commenting on how good the DJ was…. And they really were that good.





Photography/ Videography- DUET- Alberto’s crew A+
Where do I start? I love, love, love Duet. I used Alberto’s crew for photography and videography. They were highly professional and made sure that they set us up for all of the pictures that we wanted. I could go on and on… they really were perfect and I love my proofs.
