Review for the vendors I used and to give ideas of vendors to others
I know when I was planning my wedding I liked to look at other people's reviews of their wedding, so I hope this is helpful to some of you brides out there. We had our wedding June 5th at the Country Gardens at Eastwind in Wading River. I cannot say enough good things about Eastwind. It is a very classy and elegant place w/ out having to spend a fortune. We honestly have no complaints and our guests really loved the food, the setting, and the staff. The staff make you feel comfortable and will go that extra mile. A+
We went w/ Marco Photographer in Bohemia. We recently received our proofs and they are gorgeous. We have alot of nice photos to choose from which will make choosing the photos for the album very difficult. Marco was very professional and we liked his personality. He would make you laugh and we didn't find him annoying or intrusive. A+
For video, we went w/ JPI and I can't wait to see the footage. They were also very professional and you honestly forgot that they were there. They are a little pricey, but they are worth it. In my opinion, they are up there w/ Pennylane Productions but their prices are more reasonable. I also like how JPI focuses on the day and tells a story....it's more personal. Pennylane is more artistic. They are both great videographers.........it just depend which one works better for you. I give JPI Films an A for now because I haven't seen the final result yet, but I know it will be good.
For flowers, we went w/ Cress Florist in Smithtown. They did an amazing job and we had a complicated centerpiece. We used breakways for the flowers w/ 3 different sizes pillar candles in the middle. However, not all the tables had the same colored flowers so it can get trciky. To be honest, they scared me at times, but in the end there were no problems w/ the final product. It was everything we asked for and I thought that their prices were reasonable. A+ for the day, but a B+ overall because they caused me stress at times and whenever you made an appointment w/ them they were always late. LOL! However, you know if you use them, the flowers will be gorgeous. It may not be what you asked for, but it will look good, so I always had that in the back of mind.
For my dress, I went to Fantasia in Rocky Point (Not far from Majestic Gardens). I wore a Sottero and Midgley......the dress was to die for and the back was one of a kind. Maria does a great job and it is not easy finding a good seamstress. The girls that work there are really nice and they genuinely care about the way you look for your wedding. I am glad I bought my dress there because two weeks after the wedding our guests were still talking about the dress. They get an A+ for the actual day when it really counts.
Sir Oliver in Ronkonkoma for Limo. My husband was in charge of this area, but they were reliable and prices were reasonable. I don't think he had any problems in dealing w/ them. They were professional. A
Men's Warehouse for tuxes and David's Bridal for bridesmaid dresses. They were okay. I mean there really isn't much to say about them. They are a chain so you know you aren't going to get that personal touch and they aren't always the friendliest or helpful. We went w/ them because we had some people in the bridal party that were out of state, so it made sense. There were some problems w/ the tuxes, but it got straigtened out before the day of the wedding. It was a sizing issue, but they took care of it. I give them a B- If I had the choice to do it I again...........I wouldn't choose either one to deal w/ again, but that is just my opinion. They do have awesome prices and they are convenient so I can't bash them too much.
