Review West Sayville CC, Flower Michele, Sir Oliver, Dance Jock, Silver Fox, Wedding Salon of Manhasset, Fantasy Land, 12/17/2005...ADDED PICS 2nd Page

First let me say that my wedding day could not have been any more perfect. I was happier that day than I have ever been.

Fantasy Land--Patchogue Floral---10+

I love this store. I got my STD's, invites, head piece, bells, ribbon, candles, candle holders and everything else under the sun at this store. They were easy to deal with and I loved my invites. Simple and classy.
We also got the materials to make this card box, where I put all the envelopes.

Flower Michelle--10

What can I say that hasn't been said. Everything was absolutely gorgeous. Everything that I envisioned came to life. John did an amazing job. And he even put up the wreaths that my sister, mother, and I made, in the church. Free of charge. He's awesome!!!!!!!!! The flowers were there when I got home from the salon and they were at the reception hall before I got there. I think the church flowers beat us to the hall too.

Cutting Club--Debbie and Chrissy--10+++++

I got extensions in my hair, not permanent ones. Debbie bought them for me, colored them to match my hair exactly, curled them, and then attached them to my head. She actually used a straight iron to curl them. She gave me beautiful long hair on my wedding day. It looked amazing, people couldn't believe it. It was real hair.

Chrissy did my make-up and gave my the look I wanted, natural and flawless. She did an awesome job!!!

Wedding Salon of Manhasset--10+++++

You certainly get what you pay for here. The service at this salon was amazing. I found a Monique Lhuillier dress that I absolutley loved. I bought the veil here as well. Mary was my sales women and she was so patient and helpful. KC did my alterations and I loved my bustle. The dress fit me like a glove!!!

We also got the Brides Maids dresses here as well. I chose Vera Wang in two different styles in Claret. The service was great and the dresses looked fabulous!!!!

After Hours Tuxedo's--10

I was the most nervous with this vendor, but they came thru. I stopped by to make sure everything was ok weeks before the wedding and I spoke to the 'acting manager'. They were all the correct color, size, and numbers. They did a great job.

Follow Your Heart--10+++++

She did my calligraphy at the very last minute because of a mishap with another vendor. She did an awesome job. It was done by computer and it looked great!!!!

Sir Oliver--10+++++

Mike was our driver and he was awesome. He got to the house super early and hung-out for a little while. He was very professional and friendly. He even helped my elderly Aunt find her way into the church. We got a Cadilac Escalade and it was in perfect condition. In dealing with them Jennifer was so nice and really helped us with the price. Great vendor!!!!!

Silver Fox--Ted and Franco 10+++++++

These guys are awesome. When I first met with John I liked the vibe I got. He really tried to find out what style I liked. Franco was my main photographer and he is so funny and laid back. He made us all laugh and that's why the pictures came out so good. He didn't pose us, which is exactly what I was looking for. Ted was my photojournalist. He was very quiet and you never really knew that he was there. He did an amazing job as well!!!!

Metamorphasis--St James--MOB Dress--10+++

My mom didn't want a typical MOB dress so she went here. They actually had a huge selection, evening gowns, tunics, shoes, tanks,... They had a friendly staff and great service. My mom had a 'sexy mama dress'!!!!

Oh and my Grandma (there in the turquoise dress) wore that same exact dress to my mother's wedding. Pretty cool!!!!

Dance Jock--Hector--10+++++

I got so many compliments on Hector and Rich (Frank Sinatra singer). Hector had the perfect balance of getting involved, but not too much. And Rich sounds so much like Frank that people thought it was a CD. I had a percussionist and I can't remember what his name, but he was awesome too. The entire place was up dancing all night, even DH, and he NEVER dances. Hector played every song that I asked for. I highly recommend him.

Here they are:

Hirshleifer's--Shoe's--10++++

I got my wedding shoe's here because I wanted something that would be timeless and last forever. I rocked the Jimmy Choo's ladies and I'll be rocking them for the rest of my life. They look great with jeans, a wedding gown, and an evening dress. And as usual the service there was wonderful.

West Sayville Country Club--10++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

This place was amazing. I dealt with Steve in all my planning's and he was so accomodating I can't even describe it. I had so many decorations to put up, pictures, candles, place holders, baskets, menus, ornaments, the list goes on. He took care of everything. I was even able to bargain for the chocolate fountain instead of bottled beer. Everything I said he would say 'ok' or 'alright'. He went over the menu with us. I even created a new bridal table. We put the dais up against an oval table and he made it look like one big table. It was our way of being with our bridal party, but separate as well. He loved the idea!!! Anne Marie was our Maitre'D and she was awesome too. She ran the show and the service was impeccable. She did everything we asked and was so professional. She brought the cake out for me to look at it. She even got a stain out of my dress. Everything we asked for she did it. She was AMAZING!!!!!The food was out of this world. My wedding guests were 75% Italian and we love our food. Let me tell you that I have gotten letters from guests telling me how good the food was.

Anyone out there looking for a small to medium size wedding...this is your venue. I had 163 guests including myself and it was perfection. By far, I got the most for my money here. I think this place is a secret and not many brides even consider it. I chose it because of the people, the warm environment, and because they decorated the place so beautifully for Christmas!!!! I can go on and on about this place!!!! My guests loved it because it was so different.

Re: Review West Sayville CC, Flower Michele, Sir Oliver 12/17/2005

So that's my review. Hope you liked it!!!!

Added February 1:

I just got back from Hawaii yesterday! We stayed in Oahu (Waikiki Beachside Hotel) and Maui (The Hyatt Regency). Waikiki has a BIG nightlife. It's pretty much a city on the beach. Great shopping like Chanel, Gucci, ... as well as places like Billibong and quaint beach shops. Lots of bars and restaurants. I would say the most fast paced place in Hawaii. Hotel was not fancy, but we didn't want to spend a lot there because we knew we weren't going to be in the hotel a lot in Waikiki. Clean hotel, nothing fancy, nice view. The service was great and they were VERY friendly. We went to Pearl Harbor, while not typically a honeymooners activity I really wanted to see it and I'm really glad we went.

Maui is much more laid back. Has like 4 highways on the whole island. The Hyatt was beautiful, very tropical and 'Hawaiian'. We had no problems finding a good spot by the pool. Service was great. We actually went to look at the Four Seasons just to see what we missed. I originally wanted to stay here, but our travel agent advised us not to. It was beautiful and not nearly as big as the Hyatt, but I'm still happy with our choice to stay at the Hyatt. The Four Season's had an older crowd and I felt a little out of place. It was a little too quiet. And the pool at the Hyatt is much cooler also.

We did the bike ride down Haleakala Mountain. Highly recommend it! It's very cold up there so bring warm clothes, you can take them off on the way down and put them in the van that follows you. It's 38 miles of biking with no peddling. No exercise here girls. We used Maui Downhill, nice guys.

We snorkeled off Lanai'i. That was fun too because we swam with sea turtles (can't touch them) and we saw 100's of dolphins on the way over there. We also saw 3 humpback whales (which I LOVED because I'm a national geographic freak) because January-February is the whale season when all the mother whales come down to Hawaii to have babies, so cute.

We also did the Road to Hana, which I highly recommend. It took us 5 hours to get to Hana and it was raining, but there's a lot to see. We actually saw a sea lion or seal, anyway it was pretty big, hanging out on the shore. I walked right up to it, but I didn't touch it. I'm still not sure if he was sick or just being lazy because he saw me but didn't move. Buy the Hana CD, it helped us a lot.

We also saw a luau. We went to the one at our hotel. Very entertaining, you have to see at least one.

The little town near the Hyatt, Lahaina, has a lot of shopping and restaurants and bars. That is where the night life is, if you want to call it that. Very laid back atmosphere. I brought dress up clothes and didn't wear any of them.

Hawaii is very far, but very worth the trip.
