wedding day! Chateau Briand, Old Westbury Gardens, Kleinfeld's, Francesco's bakery, Once Upon An Event, Designs by Rose, Frank Ahn, Camelot Limos, Daniel Linares Entertainment, TripGuy, etc.

First off, I just want to thank all the ladies on this site! All you girls were such a big help during the whole wedding planning process. Also, I just want to say enjoy every minute of your wedding, and don't sweat the small stuff...it REALLY does go by THAT fast! And most importantly, don't let the opinions of others sway your decisions regarding your wedding. If you feel strongly about something, go for it and forget everyone else. Chances are they'll be the ones coming up to you telling you how much fun they're having. lol Now on to the reviews! Ps will update with more pics once I get our pro pics...sorry if its pic heavy!

The Rings: Cambridge jewelers, Carle Place - A
We got our wedding bands the same place hubby got my engagement ring, and both times we were very happy with the service we received. I remember wanting to exchange my wedding band when I saw another that I liked, and they exchanged it no problem, even if it was past their exchange policy limit. I won't say they're the cheapest around, but they do work with you on price and don't pressure you to buy. I even bought my 'stunt rings' their for when I left my rings at home for the honeymoon. All in all very pleasant experience and very nice staff. Just ask for Barbra!

Save the Date Magnets: Wedding Paper Divas- A
Great Quality and they run sales on the site all the time! I would suggest buying it then, since they can be a bit pricey, especially when there are other sites out there with more affordable pricing.

Bachelorette Party: Montaulk, NY
My girls and I got a limo and did a vineyard tour for the day, and we pretty much hopped from one vineyard to the next till it was time for dinner lol We also rented a house on the beach and it was absolutely perfect. Some nights we just stayed in and had bon fires and cooked our own meals from home just enjoying each others company. Its a nice alternative since a few of my girls aren't the partying sort, and everyone enjoyed either way. :)

Rehearsal Dinner: Novita, Garden City- A
Due to more out of town guests than we expected, we were at max capacity for the restaurant at 65 ppl. Even though, the private room downstairs was more than able to accommodate us, and it didn't feel crowded. There was also a small adjacent lounge next to the dinning area, along with private restrooms and a bar. The food was also fantastic, and they didn't at all rush us out when our time had elapsed. They even packed up our left overs and made sure I got all the extra left over cake from the groom's cake I had made.

Music: Daniel Linares Entertainment- A-
Everything went very smoothly with the exception of him forgetting my sister's name during the introductions. Other than that little hiccup, I never seen a dance floor so packed! I don't know if it was the crowd (probably a mix of him and the crowd lol), but it literally was popping all night long lol We were guests at 3 different weddings this year, and some of them done by big LI Djs, but they weren't much to rave about. If it werent for the high energy of some people, I don't think many people would've gotten up to dance since the DJ looked so uninterested and lacked energy. Like, didn't even care that the dance floor was half empty...yikes!

Dan on the other hand, was a professional through and through. Every phone call and e-mail was answered at a timely manner, and never longer than a few hrs to get a response. It also seemed liked he played almost everything on our must haves and really knew the feel for the room. There was something for everyone's taste. He even did some awesome house/trance mixes for my guests who are really into that. Also, for anyone debating about wether to get a dj and mc, do yourself a favor and get two guys for your reception! Danny was not at all cheesy and really got the room up. We also got our intelligent lighting package through him, and it really added to Chateau's built in lights, and later through the night, started pulsating to the beat...really cool. I can't say enough about him and he's well reviewed on the knot, and we got him just at the right time before he raised his prices. Even then, he's still a tad bit of a bargain, but thats before his new prices. He is willing to work on price though. :)

Videography: Frank Ahn- A
I was obsessed with Frank's work ever since he did a friend of our's wedding, and he is just a proper gentleman and professional. He came 10 min before the allotted time and was such a calming presence and didn't at all feel intrusive. My mom even asked him and his assistant to put their camera's down and eat during cocktail hr, and he refused and wanted to continue filming. I haven't gotten my trailer or video yet, but I'm very excited to see it, especially with all the cool angles and panning zoom features he was doing. He even stayed a little latter just so he can get more shots for us. :) If you're interested in doing video, Frank is worth every penny!

Flowers: Designs by Rose- B+
Rose and Doris are a mother daughter team based outside of Queens. Both very nice and professional, and all e-mails and phone calls were answered in a timely manner. The flowers she did for my wedding/ceremony were amazing and very lush/fresh, and I loved the tree centerpieces she did for us! The bouquets were gorgeous, and had all the colors I associate with fall, and they really popped! All the guests were rushing up to us to get first dibs on who could take them home! The only qualm I have with her is that she forgot to add the voltives for each table and didn't put the twigs on top of my non-tree centerpieces like originally discussed. Its no biggy though since no one seemed to notice but me...not even my husband who came with me when we picked them out! lol

Limos: Camelot- A
I was a bit frazzled and highly annoyed at one of my bridesmaids who was running late as always, and our driver sensed this and immediately tried to ease the tension with a few jokes. The effort was much appreciated, and the conversation while heading to Old Westbury Gardens did eventually take my mind on my missing bridesmaid. I'm sad I don't remember his name, but he was early/ courteous, and personable. We rented the rolls royce for me to ride in, and the audi limo for the bridal party, and both cars were immaculate and very nice. The driver that came to pick us up at the end of the night, was also on time and the car was just as nice as the ones we rented. We were initially suppose to be picked up in a sedan, but they sent an escalade instead, which was a nice surprise. :) The communication with Camelot leading to the actual wedding was very smooth. They called to confirm pickup and drop off two weeks before the wedding without our prompting. Overall a great experience with this company!

Old Westbury Gardens- C+
I don't even know what to say, but I'll start off with the good before I get to the bad. First off, the grounds are beyond beautiful, which is why we choose the location, but it pretty much stops there. To think when you're paying an exorbitant amount (we paid almost $400) that they would provide better service, but sadly it was not the case. My husband initially requested a golf cart for me on account of a bad case of arthritis in my ankle, and the recent surgeries I've had on it, and the woman he dealt with refused his request, and wasn't interested in helping. He later took it up to someone much higher up, and they agreed to provide a golf cart for me so long as it doesn't go on the grass. I would have to trek the rest on foot, which is fine by me, but still, the previous person didn't even attempt to contact anyone and flat out refused, which I thought wasn't right. Its because of this that I made the decision to not let my grandma come to the gardens for pics, since the steps near the great lawn could pose a problem for her, and she has more mobility issues than I do. The other thing that irked me was they had us waiting 15-20 min before they allowed any of the cars to drive up to the house. I'll admit we were running late and have no problem having that time deducted from our initial 90 mins, but they also tried to deduct the time we had just idling for 15-20 min before a car came to meet us. On top of that, if we wanted an extra 15 min, they wanted to charge us an additional $100 on top of the almost $400 that we paid...the nerve! That was really the best solution they had for us, and it was just unreal, seeing as there weren't a lot of people there, and we weren't anywhere near the other wedding party. After a lot of going back and forth between their liaison and my sister, they finally agreed to let us have the 20 minutes we lost sitting around in the cars. Honestly, like I said before, their grounds are beautiful, but if I had to go back, I'd choose another location. There a plenty of beautiful places to take pics in, and some without the hefty price tag for bad service! I wouldn't recommend this place, especially if you know you have some stragglers in your wedding party. Its like pulling teeth to get them to be reasonable or compromise!

Wedding Coordinator: Once Upon An Event- A
Donna was an absolute pleasure to work with. She answered any little question I asked no matter how silly it may have seemed, and she was super helpful the day of. I had a huge wedding party, so I knew I needed an extra hand to round everyone up if need be, or just help me personally, and it was the best decision ever. Donna was there to attend to any little request, big or small, it didn't matter. I remember I was starving and was having my dressed bustled, and she made me a plate and literally just fed me. I honestly felt guilty being waited on like that, but she assured me that was her job, and to think nothing of it. Every time I got up from the table, Donna was there to see if I needed her. Whether it was escorting me to the bridal suite to use the ladies room, or being my personal bag lady lol, she was always close by and ready to assist. It was also helpful to hand over the reigns of paying/tipping the remaining vendors to her. Each vendor collected their payment/tips as they left, and it freed up more time for us to thank our guests for coming. Her fee are also very reasonable! if you're the type to stress over every little thing, an extra coordinator could help ease the stress a little. Honestly, you can't put a price on peace of mind, and her services are totally worth it!

Favors: Favorfavor.com-A
We got customized engraved glass coasters for each of our guests and they were super cute, and out guests loved them. The shipping is a little much, but they are very heavy, so I guess its not so bad. All in all, very happy with them.

Photobooth: East Coast Photo Booth- A
The photo booth we got was HUGE! They said we can fit 8-12 comfortably, but we were able to squeeze about 16 in! lol The props, guestbook, and online gallery were included in the price. We only paid an additional fee for the red carpet/velvet rope to be added. It was def a nice touch. They had a big variety of props too, everything from those thought bubble signs, to super hero masks, viking hats, mustaches/lip sticks, etc. The attendant we had was also a very pretty young energetic woman, and I have to say, all the men loved her! lol I think I must have more than my fair share of copies from the same ppl just because of this woman lol Very upbeat and organized. The guestbook we got is also very nice and well put together. Def recommend this company! They run promos so keep an eye out for them!

Venue: Chateau Briand- A
Everything went absolutely perfect! Any problem we had, was quickly rectified. For instance, we were suppose to have use of the outdoor space for cocktail hr, since our cocktail hr room (Europa) lead out to the garden area, but a scheduling issue had a ceremony booked during our cocktail hr. Our BM apologized and moved our time up a half hr earlier so we were able to have access. Our menu was also upgraded to their new menu for next yr, even though our wedding date didn't qualify us for their new menu, which was def a nice surprise. For any ladies considering CB, their improved menu included duck l'orange, branzino, and a few extra vegetarian options and desserts , in addition to what you'd be getting from their old menu like chateau briand, salmon, chicken, etc. :) My bridal attendants were also on top of things, and so well organized! Virginia did such a good job, everything was just seamless. I had lots of members from my bridal party from abroad and out of state that were just in disbelief at how 'grand' (their words not mine lol) everything was. They were really impressed with the venue and the food. Lots of people are still talking about it now! And the Europa for cocktail hr is such a huge room! There was no shortage of seating for our guests and everyone was free to move around, not to mention how good the food was. The Normandy room was equally just as gorgeous and well put together. I can't be more happy with CB. Also, after the wedding, they packaged everything up and sent it off to the hotel and made sure to run through the check list with me, and do one final sweep of the rooms/bridal suite before we left. If I had one regret with CB, is that I didnt eat more!

Kleinfeld's bridal- A
Their service can't be beat! Everything from picking out a gown, to their alterations department was just world class. I never felt pressure to buy anything at all. I remember I kept changing my mind about whether I should get a pale blush colored wedding dress or go the traditional route. They were extremely patient with me and next day shipped color swatches for me to see so I didn't have to go into the city again. They also gave me a bit of a deal with some accessories :) And the alterations dept did excellent work on my dress. They initially gave me 4 fittings, but I ended up needing 5 because of all the weight I was losing, and it wasn't a problem for them to do. The seamstress did such an amazing job reconstructing the dress since I'm petite (just 5'1) their standard gowns were built for women 5'5 and over...yikes! Needless to say she had a lot of work cut out for her lol They raised the bottom 2 inches and took out tons of tulle and fabric to get it to accommodate me, and even sewed on a belt a bought for it. The seamstress was literally out of breath! lol But it turned out great! If you're on the fence about them, don't be! They have something for everyone's budget!

Honeymoon: Melissa from tripguy- A
Melissa is just an absolute sweetheart, and I can't recommend her enough, and shes a fellow LIweddings bride! !We booked with her for our honeymoon to Athens, Santorini, and Rome. We priced things out ourselves, and she got us a better price by a few hundred dollars. My FH's stepbrother went to Sanotorini and Mykonos for his honeymoon, and couldn't stop raving about it. He did however mention that Myknonos had the better beaches, but the crowd and scene became too much, and didn't really have a 'honeymoon vibe'. We opted staying in Santorini, in the town of Oia since its supposedly very romantic and beautiful, but I think any of the Greek islands are really. Our room there has its own lazy river plunge pool, right on our balcony, so you can just laze around or go downstairs to the hotels pool overlooking the volcano and Adriatic. Santorini also has a beaches, but its a pebble beach and volcanic sand, so not as pretty as Mykonos.

We did rent a car though a company that Melissa recommended called Vazeos and they were fairly priced with other companies on the island, and also a preferred vendor of the hotel. I think we paid 45 euros for the day. Its less if you get a stick shift without gps though. Be warned, gas is pretty pricey, you're better off getting an atv, which we were going to do, but decided against it. The locals have no patience for tourists and drive like maniacs. Especially on a two way curvy road on a mountain. One wrong move and they'll literally drive you off the cliff since some areas don't have guard rails! We drove around Santorini since it wasn't a big island, and It was unbelievably beautiful. Everywhere you went, it was as if you were in a travel magazine. Absolutely breath taking and picturesque!

Some of our friends and family tried to talk us out of going to Europe for our honeymoon, saying it was more touristy, than relaxing, but its what we want and what you make it. For Santorini we explored the island and vineyards, and visited the red beach, which looked like mars really, and drove to other beach towns which had black volcanic sand. Most days we just relaxed and every morning had breakfast delivered to our balcony overlooking the caldera and sea views, and then took a dip in our pool. :)

In Rome, we did the underground tour of the Colosseum, and it takes you down to the restricted area/dungeons, and you get to walk down below where most people aren't allowed. They only allow a group of 12-20 I think for both night and day tours, and its very limited. We were able to see where the stored the dead bodies and lions after games, and then headed up to another restricted third tier above the colosseum. This is where you get all the good pictures. Its def worth it just to say you stood on the colosseum grounds. After the Colosseum, the tour guide took us to Palatine Hill, and to see the Roman ruins. Both times we were able to skip the lines for the colosseum and Palatine Hill, which was extremely long, and left you open to being pick pocketed if you weren't careful.

In Athens, Melissa put in an upgrade request, and our suite was instantly upgraded to the next tier! Our room over looked the acroplis and had a huge balcony and living space! Very nice hotel and the food there was amazing as well! We booked a private driver for 6 hrs to tour most of athens and it was def worth it, than taking multiple cabs around the city. We went up to the acroplis, Partheon, did a coastal tour, and were taken to places that locals enjoyed. All the drivers that we booked through Melissa we prompt and waiting for us when we landed. And I gotta say, its nice being chauffeured in a benz like you're someone important lol

If you're interested, we're booked at the Canave's Suites (Santorini), Intercontiental de la Rome, And Electra Palace for Athens. All hotels are very central so you can walk to most of the major sites. Also try tripdavisor. Thats been my bible for planning our itinerary for the trip, and def contact Melissa if you're looking for a travel agent. It costs nothing for her services, and takes a lot of stress off you!

Etsy vendors: Will update when I get our pro pics back. :)
Exotic wedding boxes- A
For any of you ladies looking to purchase card boxes, exoticweddingboxes on etsy has some great deals, and are a bit more reasonable than the other card box vendors. I got so manu compliments on it! The owner was so great, and even added our wedding monogram and gave me extra rhinestones for free. :) If anyones looking def check them out! :)

Cake topper: Pinkowlgifts- A
Came in a timely manner and was packed well. Exactly what I expected!

Hanger: Snootybride- A

Groom's sock label: Anaderoux-B+
Took a little longer than expected, but exactly as described.

Ketubah: doodlage- A
Absolutely gorgeous!

] Also forgot to mention Gina from glamour me up. Very sweet and such a nice disposition. She made me and my girls look beautiful for the wedding, and her prices are more than reasonable. I even had a little issue afterwards, and we were able to resolve it no problem. She was also not bothered by the fact that I kept adding more girls than agreed upon and after submitting my final count. Very sweet lady, and I can't recommend her enough!

Jewelry: Barrons at tri county- A
They have reasonable prices, and can work with you on price. It also helps that they have beautiful pieces!

Guestbook: Peachwik-A

Caligrapher: Mary Ellin Kurtz-A
Once I saw the seating cards provided by CB, I knew I wanted something more personal. We contacted Mary last minute (a wk before the wedding) and opted to get digital calligraphy, and she got it to us just in time, and with no rush fee! Her prices are very reasonable and she comes to your home if you like. She even put all of the multi colored leaf stickers I bought from Michael's on from me. :)

So happy to hear about Donna! I'm using Once Upon an Event as well!

Also, is that the Maggie Sottero Marianne gown?! That's the dress that's my top pick right now I compare every dress I try on to that one. Maybe I should go to Kleinfelds to buy it (I got nervous because when I go to book an appointment it says the minimum dress price is $2,000, but the dress is cheaper than that in other stores).

beautiful! I have to say Old Westbury Gardens is simply amazing but I agree with you 100% that their customer service is god awful. They are very rude and nasty to their customers which is terrible because you are paying them! it is very upsetting in the manor in which they treat people :(
